Status: offline 		There is a recent scandal that made the news in Seattle. A male cyberpunk falsely listed himself as a femdom, including a phony photograph, and then published all the males with their photographs that responded.

From now on, there is no way I will e-mail my photo until I speak directly with the "woman" on the telephone. I hope all you women out there realize that sleaseball youngsters, pulling their organs late at night, have ruined the internet as a way to meet people.

Status: offline 		I don't think the internet is ruined for meeting people.  Many people have met in the past and will meet in the future.  It takes time and common sense.

It officially ruined the internet, apparently, as a way to meet you.

And, by the way, he had a girlfriend who was a co-conspirator so you could have easily been duped even if you had insisted on a phone call, if they had wanted to take it that far.

From what I can tell, the people who got reeled in were not looking for a relationship, they wanted to meet a hot young woman for no-strings play and sex. Im not saying they deserve to be outed because they wanted casual play and sex, Im just saying that this was not a case of someone exploiting men who wanted to meet a kinky girl and take her home to mother. There are lots of risks involved in partaking in casual encounters. Apparently, being outed is one of them.

I do not blame the victims. I think that what these people (the offending couple) did was inexcusable and cruel and just downright wrong.
Still, I wouldnt go cancelling my eharmony subscription over it.

PS In the account I read, he posed as a sub and yes what he did was reprehensible but lots and lots and lots of women and men have been exploited and outed and messed with and stalked and lots of other things by people they met online. Im curious as to why this, for you, is this the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Status: offline 		It has not ruined the internet as a way to meet people. One should *always* take precautions and realize that simply by logging on to the internet, you are putting yourself at risk. Whether it's computer virus, identity theft or more.

This just presses the fact that one should always be responsible about their own behaviours, and take every precaution they can.

It's not a ruining thing, it's a reminder. And frankly I think a lot of people could use a reminder.

Of course, I could still be caught out after talking to someone for aa while, but I'd rather get to know someone a bit before giving them any potentially embarassing ammunition against me, should I happen to have fallen foul of a fraudster.

Status: offline 		I wouldn't care if I was outed, personally, but I do have kids, which is why I don't have my picture up - I guess I always wondered when something like this might happen - I don't even mention this site on other sites, in case I should inadvertantly attract trolls or other ethically challenged individuals.

I try to keep somewhat current on posting in the boards, that way there is at least a body of evidence that I'm sincere, and it's probobly a more complete snapshot of me than any picture - I'm hoping most of these troll types don't have that kind of patience.

I suspect it will merely make the already difficult... harder.

Status: offline 		If I were outed today, it would not affect me whatsoever..personally my reasoning for not posting a picture is that I wish to keep my private life private but if it is not to be then so be it.As far as someone showing my response to e-mail or the like..(shrug)...how many total strangers could really care less who I am and what I do?...as in life there is always a risk...To bad the OP has let these little twerps affect him in any way shape or form....Tempting

There are several people who actually are the gender they claim to be. You need to not let one or two instances make you judge every single femdom / femsub out there because of it.

Or if you decide to do that, then get off the computer, and go out and meet people.

You don't get to know anyone until you open the lines of communication.

BTW: Most of the women I know will not talk to someone over the phone until they feel like they can trust them enough to give them their phone number, and prefer getting to know them online first. Just some FYI.

The respondants replied with full names, home phone numbers, etc  with thier first reply to a profile and pic.

Out of curiousty I checked out the site mentioned in the above thread and noticed so many men sending cock pics to the poser.  Noticed it also on Alt. I guess showing one's endowments is more common then I thought.

Whereas I've only been asked once for such a photo.

It is a bit of a quandry, some profiles state they'll only respond if you send a pic - I have to defer to the kids, there are always going to be people around here that would take it out on them somehow, and it would require Herculian efforts to sally forth and smite them, time consuming, and it probobly wouldn't stick for long anyway, little seems to.

Maybe when the boys are older - at least they're not girls, that could get touchy.

As a guess, I'd say the more blatant the ad in terms of sex or sexuality, the more likely it is to attract overtly sexual advances.

You're photos, for example, are sexy, but not sex orientated.  Your written profile discourages sex talk.

The fake ad however, had a photo of a woman from the rear, in what I call the "bent over shotgun" position, hands on hips, spreading her cheeks, and her ad crudely said "come and get it".

I think that would encourage a lot of "dicks".
