im in PAIN from hell today per my back. so ill be brief.

i watched part of the rebroadcast of that day unedited.  that reporter did one heck of a job. the "planned" attacks were so very worst the the 4 that happened. the cogs in the wheel- every day folks- a good many that could used every tool in their power to bring the insanity to an end and limit our loses.  i feel these nameless people havent been thanked. the gloomy fear that day "how much worse does it get" -- then the weeks following how everyone came together.

even with our current faults- i feel honored to be an American.  humbled- and emabarred by bush neocons.

there are many heros of that day.  victems were of dozens of countries.

it no doubt was a defining moment of our lives. anyone with tv reception seen it live.

incredulous.

im glad the holiday?? hasnt reduced down into a tacky thing as say some of them have.

to the OP, bush is an azzzhole.   06, 08, hopefully we can SHOW the world that we can govern ourselves in a humane manner, that we can ghet along with others... and that we reclaim the REAL torch of what freedom is supposed to be....

cuddles i seen a bit of it.  if i could be loraina bobbit for a day--

how arragant to turn a solum moment into a state speech. we have always been at war with euasia/oceana.

a speech like that was like pissing on the 9-11 graves!

Yeah, here's another example of what I've been talking about.  From the article in the OP's link:

quote:

Though partisan bickering and election-year politicking was set aside for the day to honor the 9/11 dead (see "Americans Pause To Remember 9/11"), as soon as Bush's speech was over, it flared up again, the Los Angeles Times reports. Following the speech, Democratic Senator Edward Kennedy said the president, "should be ashamed of using a national day of mourning ... to seek support for a war in Iraq that he has admitted had 'nothing' to do with 9/11."

Right.  When Democrats criticize the President, it's "partisan bickering," but he can blithely ask us all to "put aside our differences" and unanimously support his war plan.

i personally was hoping that the towers would have been rebuilt by now. even if they were relocated. Chicago had a project called "deep tunnel" which basically was a huge drainage tunnel for the metro.  a buddy of mine from NJ was in awe over it. he said it would be impossible to get that done in NYC...due to lawsuits. i said thatts interesting being that cook county il, has more lawsuits per capita then anywhere else on earth. i understand boston did a simmilliar project.

the whole in the ground is a point for the bad guys.....

If that's what it takes then yes.  We are not fighting a convetional war, We are not fighting uniformed soldiers. We are fighting evil men who kill and murder innocent civilians.  And the unfortunate truth of war is that there will be civilian casualties. We need to accept that as an acceptable loss, because no matter how many are killed in the cross fire if it means the destruction of Al Qaeda, or Hamas, or Hezbolllah, or Islaimc Jihad, or the Islamic Brotherhood, or the PFLP, etc.... then we have saved  thousands if not millions of lives.  Look at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it was the same thing, however less than 1 million were killed. What would an invasion of Japan led to? millions dead and a devastated country.  Sometimes to take a step foward you need to take a step back. God Bless America and God Bless our President and Commander in Chief(who we elected by the way)

elected.. LMAO.. yeah.. like saddam hussein was elected.. who installed him into his position anyway bigboy?
as for the war, what a joke.  Answer me why Saddam got on TV and said "I have no weapons of mass destruction, someone stop this idiot man"  Same time dubya was saying "we know what an unarmed country looks like and Iraq is not one of those countries"   Which one of the two LIED?   and now the main man from Iran wants to debate dub because he says the American people have the right to know the truth ?  They would never let a moron like george dub debate a deaf mute.  He lied to you sucker.  He lied to us all and now you want to wave your little flag and say we 'liberated' those people..  they switched horses in mid stream and you never even noticed.
You dont need the U.N. the U.N. is useless, yet you claim he 'broke the U.N. resolutions and wouldnt abide by them?  You just find it useful if it suits your need?   You need to go into a deep dark closet and sit and think things over.  If you tear down the very foundation this nation was built on in order to protect it, exactly what are you protecting?
