Am I alone in finding the disingenuous approach of some people on here distinctly offputting. They demand a 'tribute' to keep them in the lifestyle they are (or want to be) accustomed to for their services. I see no difference between these people and common prostitutes except for the fact that the prostitutes accept what they are doing and don't try to disguise it!

I see nothing wrong with prostitution or prostitutes per se but am wholly against those who try to use this sort of medium to exploit others. The female domme area is riddled with these people.

It seems to me that action needs to be taken to ensure that the prossies dont turn these valuable, worthwhile and much appreciated forums into virtual phone boxes full of cards.

Anyhow, others thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, you won't be winning many friends with this post. I think this is something between a sub/slave and the Dommes and maybe not for another Dom to question. Just as I am sure you would not want someone to question your techniques. JMO.

I'd be more apt to accept this "tribute-is-a-bad-thing" argument from the Quakers before I do someone in this lifestyle. And just so we don't get things twisted, as I FemDom I *have* paid tribute before. I tributed my mentors on a regular basis. They were kind enough to show me the ropes. . .I felt the need to show my appreciation.

Hiya Steven...

I have to admit, the whole pro Domme thing used to bother me as well. All i could envision was these poor men, confused in their sexual thoughts, being taken by these "nothing to do with the lifestyle" women, purly for the reason of emptying their wallets.

If you manage to get through the initial judgement of it, i've found that at the very least, these self professed "pro dommes" do provide a viable service to a particular market. The fact that the market doesn't appeal to you or i is probably the key thing to remember.

Men who'd pay for service such as these aren't being taken advantage of, they are there willingly and consentually. Also, if it weren't for that industry, there'd probably be a whole bunch of married submissive men, going crazy because they can't act out their fantasy with their unwilling wives. I'm sure paid pro service is the only connection to bdsm some men have, and are happy with it.

For those of us who are here for different reasons, the appeal of a pro domme profile is non exsistant, so it doesn't bother me any longer..

I kind of liken the whole thing to Gay Marriage and the religious right. If it doesn't affect you, why condemn others from enjoying it, because it doesn't fit your particular definition. Live and let live..

Please read "Question about tribute" in Ask a Mistress section, but in particular read Jasmyn's and Sexybrownlady's replies, and if those 2 don't give you an understanding than nothing anyone else can say on here will, and you'll just have to keep thinking what you think, and it won't matter (as we all agree on "different strokes..."). I think the thing i have issue with regarding this is that many of these so called 'Pro Dommes' are under 21, only provide their 'services' via collarme and state quite categorically they have no intention of meeting the men concerned. Indeed a number have joked about how much money they make from the (and i quote) 'inadequate suckers' on here who are (imho) daft enough to pay them.

We have enough problems with regard to society marginalising us and misunderstanding what we do without encouraging individuals such as these (whom i seriously doubt are genuine) from using these forums as a quick and easy way of making money.

Even if someone does feel happy paying tribute (which i don't have an issue with) , it should up to the two individuals concerned and not emblazoned in the Domme's profile as mandatory. That isn't a gratuitous offering given out of respect / gratitude but a fee for 'services' provided.
