Please pass my prayers and good wishes to Erin, and tell her to submit to the nurses (well as long as they prove selves to be informed leaders). [;)]  M

Actually she has already had a bit of an altercation with an uninformed nurse. She had her up walking around a day after her surgery, telling her they had to get her in shape to go home. I guess erin informed her that it was likely her stay was going to be 10 to 14 days and at that point the nurse realized she was in deep doo doo (she hadn't even checked to see what erin had done). erin was NOT supposed to be sitting up yet, little alone walking. From what I hear, the nurse was in some pretty deep trouble.

I'm sorry to hear that.   I wonder if it was a nurse or an assistant.  Walking someone who isn't even supposed to be out of bed sounds completely irresponsible.   Tell Erin to question everything before doing it or getting it done to her if her caretakers seem incompetent.   I wish she were up this way, we have some very good hospitals up in New England.   M

mistoferin -> RE: Concerning mistoferin (9/22/2006 4:11:00 PM)

Hey everyone....I'm HOME!!! Actually I got home Tuesday evening and have been spending the last few days just enjoying being home and in my own bed and getting showered with big sloppy Labrador kisses!!! I'm sore but I think I'm doing really well. I bopped on here Wednesday morning but the just over 1200 e mails intimidated me right back off....anyone got any great ideas on how to respond in a timely manner...lol?

Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers, they have been much appreciated. I managed to get through the hospital stay without causing too much damage....one young nurse with a bruised ego who hopefully learned a lesson....but other than that I really did try to be a model patient. Special thanks to KatyLied for all of the support and advice...the walking really made a big difference and by the end of my stay the nurses were making comments to my Doc on how I was "Power Walking" the halls.

Oh and hey....they really were just saplings...............lol
