I often use the "hide user" feature for streamlining this site... so that those who I know are incompatible with me do not show up in subsequent displays of my matching search settings. I also would like to use it for anyone who I am interested in but have already messaged, so that those who are displayed are only potential future matches and there is no confusion leading me to waste time with a double message. My question is..."hide user" only hides them in the search and NOT in the incoming email right? I ask of course because I do not want to prevent possible replies after sending an initial email.

I have no idea but if you want to hide me and have me send you a message, let me know.  Everyone will know for sure then.

I guess I wasn't too clear in what I was trying to do haha... this is good news not bad. I wanted to know if those who I contacted initially would be able to respond to me. This way I can get email from those I want to hear from and make it so those who don't respond to mails won't waste my time catching my interest later on if I forgot about it.

Hide user? or block user?  I think....well....I know you can block a user from getting email through.  But to hide yourself while surfing the boards, you have to go into your profile.  Upper right on the message board page, click profile, then there is a setting that you check if you want to be unseen.  I think it works.  But I cant swear to it.  I use it when I want to write because, well, Im a freak and I like to feel like Im not being watched while Im writing.  plus I dont always want people to know that Im reading the "joys of scat" thread.  kidding!!!

Another thing that might help is the notes section. I use this all the time. If I email someone I put in the notes the date emailed. then when i clean my mailbox I can see if they read the email and if I got no response I mark that in the notes also then hide them. This helps just incase you do view their profile again you have the notes there telling you that they didn't respond the first time, so you are not wasting your time sending another email to someone who is obviously not interested. I hope this helps.
