Ummm....yea... Don't take offense to it hun....colored is just a word...same as brown, african or black, one i've grown up hearing from black people themselves when referring to black. If I had used the N word, then it would have been offensive.

A lot of Black people find the term "colored" offensive. I am one of them. It's ok, you didnt know... but it IS offensive to refer to black people as "colored" in this day and age.

It is?? This is the first time i've heard that. Well then, please accept my apologies. I meant no offense.

The term "colored" generally takes us back, philosophically, to the times when we were "required" to ride the backs of buses, drink from separate fountains, use the "servants" entrance, etc.  Almst ANY designation you use will probably offend SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, but, "colored" will almost ALWAYS offend anybody under the age of 100.
