That's what Phelps is hoping for. He WANTS one of his inbred flock(*) to be killed or seriously injured during one of their protests. That would give him a martyr who's memory he can parade around.
You REALLY want to piss them off? Do what a group of us started doing back in the late 90s. Whenever we get enough of an advance notice of his protests; we contact someone to do a headcount of how many of his cronies show up.
THEN, according to how many of his flock have shown up, we send a donation to an organization which Phelps is opposed to ... in his name. And send him a thank you note.
Trust me, I'd get great joy in taking a monkeywrench, rubber hosing and blowtorch to that evil fuck. But it would feed into his hatemonger ways.
(*) At last count, 80% or more of his congregation was related to him.
