seeking
a real
submissive/slave.

I am wondering if a profile like this, does not realize that he seeks a masochist?

I have been told by many masochists that they are not submissive. I have also been told that submissives can be taught to be masochists.
I rant because I see too many looking for something that use the word “real” and turn potential “partners” off.

We are all real in our own right.

I just read on another forum…
There is indeed a difference between "submissive" and "slave," and it's important to understand it clearly.
There is also, indeed, a difference between submissive, slave and masochist.

Lady Albatross, your wisdom might be enlightening.

If he is a dominant sadist he might be looking for a submissive masochist

As a sadist he might not care if the submissive is a masochist as long as she is willing to submit to the pain, in fact he may not want a masochist at all.

I take people at their word for knowing what it is they want. I certainly do not know based upon a few words.

I made this comment on another thread... all slaves are submissives, but not all submissives are slaves. I do not remember where I first read that, but it makes sense. I can be a submissive with one dom and another might master me.. it depends on the needs within two people and their dynamic

There is a difference between all those terms.. the person with the ad probably has something specific in mind and will act according to that and not my definitions or yours... just thought I would point it out... not all define the differences the same

On Edit, you issue was with the word "real" .. I think i am having trouble reading today so I am going to log off...lol

He still defines whats real to him I suppose, and when I was looking those were keywords to weed people out.

Funny thing, labels.

If you look at this from a slightly skewed angle, rather than head-on, you will see what I'm saying here.

A sadist is someone who derives pleasure in making another suffer, physically or emotionally.

A masochist is someone who derives pleasure in receiving physical or emotional suffering.

Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Except it is not, for the sadist.

The masochist is deriving pleasure from the actions of the sadist. So, in effect, the sadist is not causing the suffering that they wish. The masochist is enjoying the act of sadism too much, and the 'spirit' of the sadist is not getting what they desire.

But as much as many of us might not understand, it is quite possible that the 'owner' of that profile hadn't given it much thought, either.

I've come to the conclusion that "real" is in the eye of the beholder. As a submissive, NOT a masochist, I would not respond to an ad like that. I have no wish to serve a sadist who really just wants to hurt me. Now someone who is a dominant and really gets the D/s energy connection and uses sadism as a way to pull more submissive energy from me, I might consider. But it depends on the person and how they view "real".

This is a thought process that I hear often, but I don't buy it. A creative sadist can derive pleasure from inflicting pain on a masochist. For one, not all pains are created equal. There are some sensations, that I feel as pain and it isn't enjoyable. He delights in those. There are other sensations that I love, that have most people cringing (zippers is one of them). He can take a sensation I love and make me hate it in that moment and that fuels his sadistic desires. He pushes you past the point of pleasure into just pure agony.

I think a sadist and a masochist can match up very well together.

First off i am a slave..i have no wants, desires, or needs other then that of my Masters. i am also a big time masochist. My Master is a Sadist, and i am his Masochist, but my Master not only gets off on seeing his property suffer, but also seeing his property organsming from the suffering he is inflicting. i am a well rounded slave, i get pleasure from not only suffering but serving my Master, and being a slave. Under the line of "true" i think the only message there is this...A true slave/sub is one that gather pleasure from serving her Dom/Master. i have come across a lot of subs/slaves that state, well it didn't bother me what he did to me..LOL....but asked if the sub/slave enjoyed it, or got enjoyment because her Dom/Master enjoyed it..the answer is, i am not sure. Like a said a true sub/slave gets enjoyment from serving her Dom/Master no matter what type of service.

most sadist i know perfer to hand out pain, it does not matter to them if the person is a masochist or not, if they enjoy the pain, the sadist i know get off on it just as much as the ones they have to push, maybe i just know odd sadist?

There is a woman that posts on these boards quite often that is most definately not a submissive nor a slave but a masochist...............perhaps she will find this thread

There is one that posts here that calls herself a masochist and not a sub or slave, but she has not answered this thread, I can tell you she has posted over and over again that she has no dom. She is not a submissive so why would she have a dom?

On edit masochism really has nothing intrinsically to do with submission and sadism has nothing to do with dominance.. there are dominant masochist and there are even slaves that are sadistic

this slave is not a masochist; she dislikes pain intensly. ANY kind of pain. Yet this slave endures pain for the pleasure of Master, who IS a sadist.

Yes, I suspect that Julia, LaT and I are all speaking of the same person. I just didn't think it fair to refer to someone in particular without their voice.

I also have had email contact, at length trying to understand the philosophy, with a masochist who denies any submissive tendencies yet finds herself drawn to a sadist who will make of her a masochistic slave....

I know she never reads the boards.

But why wont more sadists respond? Tis really who I am wanting input from...what do they have/own? masochists, submissives, masochistic submissives, masochistic slave?

Did they seek a submissive/slave and realize later they sought a msochist to create a submissive?

this slave was discussing such a thing with Master last night. Master stated that though he is a sadist, he has no wish to ever own a masochist; not even a slave who could become one. Master enjoys the fact that his slave dislikes pain and actually said that he hopes that never changes

Hmmmm true and real are words I try not to use... what makes some one right for me .... has nothing to do with what make someone perfect for someone else... so at best, useing them, shows some one has criteria .. but is to lazy to be able to specify that criteria and is caught up in their own world view being at least a little the one true way ideal

I am sadist ... and a dominant...

I do consider them to be sepperate things ... and I just happen to enjoy both

I personaly enjoy submissives/slaves who have masocistic tendancies... I enjoy their reactions to pain .. both within their tolerances and when I take them beyond them ...

so I do enjoy their service.. their submission and my control of such... I enjoy their pleasure... their pain.. their suffering *smiles* ... and when all are combined *purrrsssssssssss* yummmm

each of these create their own style of energy .. its the interweaving of them at my desire that pleases me most ....as kyra said similar of Knightofmists ..... I might take a sensation a submissive enjoys but twist it in some way to evoke pain .. or suffering ... or indeed a sensation which at times is pain filled but mix it with pleasure to evoke a needy hungry desire ... some times I want their pleasure ... their pain .. their tears their screams ... their moans

So its not right to say all sadists desire ones who are not masochists... It is up to each persons to devine which types of energy/responces feed the hunger and desire within them and seek those who are able to do so ...

I personaly am greedy *grins* and love variety so I enjoy haveing them all
