I don't care what the experts say I think there is a direct link between my checkbook balance and the cost of gas. The more I have in the bank the lower the costs.

Here is an idea, park your carcass at home for a day or two no matter what type of vehicle you drive. As demand drops, prices drop if everyone stopped driving for at least one day that would be at about a gallon a person (I'm guessing but I drive about a gallon's worth a day when I drive) that would be how many millions of gallons not used in a single day? Of course, I'm a homebody so its fairly easy for me plus I can walk to a conveince store or the post office when I need anything.

OH BOY I get to GLOAT. I have a hybrid, paid for, bought used, in cherry condition (its a 2003 Prius). So I don't have to park it -- it just sips gas. I can drive and use less gas than YOU use idling in your driveway. I'm getting (per the meter in the car) 35+ mpg on my commute to work, thru Chicago streets. My daughter could "pulse and glide" (that's the technique for proper hybrid driving, not a sex technique, you perv!) and average 60 mpg! (Inner monologue revealed): All this is to gloat over what is basically a cheap small Japanese car. SIGH. Its cool. I love it. but....I sometimes long for that big hulking Jeep I had in the garage. E. (I'm going out to lunch with my girl! I think I'll spend...oh....$0.25 driving there and back -- GRIN.)

There is a lot of carbon in the Earth's interior, producing for example diamonds. There is also a lot water in the Earth's interior. There are all kinds of catalysts in the Earth's interior. There is also a lot of heat in the Earth's interior. The Earth's interior therefore is a veritable cauldron. Yes, anything may be cooked up in there, including hydrocarbons. The abiotic oil and gas hypothesis is entirely feasible. The idea is pure genius. I wish that I had thought of it first.

Will you call my boss and tell him he has to pay me to sit at home? Monday thru Friday I drive 140 miles because of work. My idea of an ideal weekend is when I can get home on a Friday night and not have to leave the farm until Monday morning. As far as prices going down.......it sure has not affected LP (liquid propane) one iota! I paid $1.58 for summer fill on a 500 gallon tank. That is a very small drop in the bucket compared to the amount that most of the farmers will need to dry their grain this fall. For a price comparison, just 4 years ago I paid 53 cents per gallon for summer fill. OUCH!! Needless to say our new primary heat source this winter will be a corn burner. Yes it cost $4000.00 to install but at 3 tanks of LP a year with summer fill prices being the lowest of the year when heating with LP, it will pay for itself quickly. I cannot even imagine what the rise in diesel prices means on top of all of that to those same farmers. And people say our economy is doing great........BULL!!!
