And I sinply don't buy the ballance the budget cries from the Democrats who had 50 years controling the house and never wanted to do it until now.

Yeah.  Those bastards Clinton and Gore equalized the budget deficit, and were well on their way to balancing the budget.  (Then please explain why the actual deficit went up 1.1 trillion during Clintons reign?) All this while building a military that could be used by a criminally incompetent commander in chief to invade sovereign nations overseas with a minimum of muss and fuss and death on our side.  Balancing the budget becomes a problem when an entity has borrowed money that has to be paid back.  (See above).

In order to fund his war and his tax cuts, Bush simply borrows money from the Chinese and prints more to pay it back.  The down side of this for you and I is the money we earn working for a living is now worth less.  The word for that is "inflation."  In fact, not only is inflation lower than during Clinton, but wages are, in real (as in "inflation adjusted") dollars, up 1.7%.

What is odd about the rest of the post is the fact that the Reagan
and Monkeyboy eras showed the most rampant deficit spending
in our countries history (actually, that's not even remotely true.  During both Roosevelt, but more specifically, Trumans tenure, the deficit was in excess of 200% of our gross national product {i.e., a measure of everything we produce} while the deficit currently is less than 7% of same).  Now I would listen to the nonsense spewed by some people about the Democrats being profligate
spenders, but with a Republican president and both houses
controlled by Republicans, our government has succeeded in doubling the national debt and are well on their way to tripling it. (True).

I have to agree with the poster who stated that some people
will believe anything regardless of the empirical evidence to the
contrary. Indeed, hence my notes above.

Just me, etc.  (Equally true...caveat emptor as they say).

A "Sovereign Nation?"
Well, Saddam was "Elected" by 100% to 0% now, wasn't he?

If I recall...Hitler had something approximating 100% of the vote as well.  And your point?

Also.... Lou Dobbs mentioned the other day, that over the time frame of the next eighteen months, over two trillion dollars worth of balloon payments on adjustable and interest only loans are going to come due - Man.... that's going to be intersting, huh?

What is cool about this is when all those people whose jobs were off-shored by Monkeyboy and his ilk end up losing their homes, and the bottom falls out of the housing market, I stand well placed to buy a really nice house for dirt cheap.

The joy of a strong union job in an industry which cannot possibly be offshored.

While I dont really enjoy capitalizing on the misfortunes of others, nobody held a gun to my ex-wife's head (for example) and forced her to refinance and take a bunch of equity out after I gave her the house in the divorce.

Just me, could be wrong, etc.

Sinergy.....

I think I read one of your posts one time that mentioned you were a longshoreman?

Anyways....have you read anything concerning this new globalist policy of re-alignment called The North American Union?

Well....one of the consistent points made throughout many of these articles, is the globalist's objective to bypass all the sea ports along the West / California coast and instead off-load these ships /containers in Mexico's deep port of Lazaro Cardenas, so they forego the high cost of America's highly paid, longshoreman's union.

I'm wondering if your union or the brotherhood for that matter, has talked about this, cares about it, or even knows about it?

I think the folks who are behind this and have manufactured this plan...... should all be rounded up and shot in the back.

One was tax cuts...I wish he didn't spend like a Democrat...

Your pointless partisan crack aside, you don't think those two very things form a contradiction?

A. Where will this precious tax cut money go? To the wealthiest paid for by the middle class.

B. Who will get saddled with it? Future generations and certainly the next few presidents.

So I guess economics is not your strong suit. May I ask what is? Your area of competence has managed to elude me.

I don't need to be an expert on economics. I just need to listen to what most economists say about tax cuts. It usually has a positive impact on the economy. In case you haven't noticed, the economy is doing quite well.
And unlike you, I don't blindly repeat the mantra that only the wealthy benefit from tax cuts. Everyone who pays taxes benefits. Now it seems logical to me that the more taxes you pay, the more you benefit from a tax cut. Do you know the percentage of taxes the wealthiest pay compared to everyone else? For your homework, look that fact up, genius. You may find that when you avoid mindlessly spouting rhetoric that belongs on a bumpersticker, and check what the facts really are, you may learn something.
And one more thing, this President is actually spending more than a Democrat. Look that up too.

Unless you are in the top 10 percent of wealth in the US, the Bush tax cuts cost you money and services, present and future national debt. The positive impact does not exist unless you happen to be selling topline luxury items.
You know nothing.
You are a FOX brainwashed one.
The facts about the economy and the tax cut effects and who benifitted from them are easily available.
Man you are just a propoganda poster. It's like listening to a tape loop recorded by the neocons.
Why do you not seek out hard facts, instead of repeating glib, baseless nothingness?
You do your country and people a disservice.

I am harsher with you than most. It's because you seem to operate as almost a plant. Automatically spewing shallow jingoist drivel in response to people who take time and effort to investigate and illuminate the subject.

Repeating yet again, totally discredited casual blurbs, to well known facts.

It's you who have not " noticed " that the US economy is currently built on DEBT! It is shakey as hell. And big time, respected economists and business people are concerned!!
But not on FOX news of course. That is in the same alternate universe where the war on terror is being won and Iraq is a flowering democracy. And might and the right is always right.

The race to the bottom in the global economy is not a positive for the U.S. and the people behind it are literally out for their own good. In other words, they are invested elsewhere while they are in control of things here. We are being set up to crash and crash hard.

Your only real hope is to do what they did, move your money somewhere else and become a global citizen. The U.S. is cooked and they are readying a big fork to let out the steam.

From Estrings link..

"Recall that President George W. Bush first "returned" $300 to all taxpayers, regardless of income. Second, the president lowered the top income tax rate in stages from 39.6 percent to 35 percent, and then decreased the tax rate on dividends and capital gains. Everyone, therefore, who paid taxes got a break."

Uhuh... From the top income tax rate....dividend tax.....capital gains tax.......Everyone therefore, who paid taxes got a break. Sooooooo everyone who pays taxes declares dividends, capital gains, and are in the top income bracket.....

Gee!! I guess the economy is doing GREAT! Most of you must have missed those great breaks on your returns. Better hire a better accountant.

Oh and a lot of people actually got about $30 bucks of that $300 for everyone.
