LTRsubNW -> RE: Clinton's recent interview (9/21/2006 6:04:38 PM)

I'm so sick of Clinton stories...but, I have to say...

1)  Clinton is freakin brilliant.

2)  Any story that suggests any amazing stuff he did with the economy, needs to be tempered with the facts; a)  He inherited the singularly largest personal income tax hike in the history of the U.S. (you can thank Bush the senior), generating increases in federal tax revenue that had never been seen before and b) he entered the scene right at the very moment that the technology shift in American economics had been germinating for four years, and was about to hit its prime, creating all the more revenue.

3)  He was a lying sack of shit.

4)  He didn't break anything (of any significant value) while he was in office, and...

5)  He's freakin brilliant.

One thing for certain, Al Qeada does *NOT* qualify for treatment under Geneva Conventions!
I hope the CIA or whoever deals with them fires up the Blow Torches and Battery cables.
We simply cannot EVER let them go so you either torture them to death or you take them out back and give them "three in the hat."

As for Clinton how can he go walking around like nothing ever happenned?
He is an Impeached former President.
Doesn't he have any sense of shame or humbleness?
Is he still seeing his "Spiritual Advisors" like he *said* he was going to do or did that last only a week?
I think that if a Psychiatrist examined him he say that Clinton is a Sociopath among other things.
Then there's the matter of his alleged rape in England while he was a "Rhode's Scholor" which he quit Oxford U. to get away from and never got a degree.
Ted Bundy was a "charming" guy too.

Right, so you agree the majority of the people in Afghanistan who were arrested (including Takiban) were covered under Article 4, section A, nos. 2, 3, and 6.  And even if they weren't Article 5 of the convention gives them all full protection until such a time as a competent tribunal can be formed.  (This is similar to that innocent till proven guilty thing America had until the Twin Towers incident).

And all of us contributing to this conversation know why nearly all people detained in Iraq today have the same rights - that couldn't be spelt out more clearly in the Convention.

Brilliant, so we take a series of techniques that have now been proven to be ineffective and provide mis-information and use it more.  Are you sure you are not an Al Quaeda operative trying to manipulate an ignorant American public?

Clearly his getting a blowjob (who would have thought you were a prude on here on this board?) disqualifies him.  You know, as opposed to invading the wrong country - twice.

Alleged rape vs. Known drunk driver and election fraudster... (I blame Al Gore, if he'd just waited for that independent investigation....)
Rhodes Scholar vs.....

As someone once said... "Ah the Clinton era, 10 years of peace and prosperity between  reigns of moral bankruptcy (this refers to the deaths of thousand, not the blowjob), violence and economic mis-management.

"Wow! I'm staggered by the ignorance out there."

...in an ironic or literal sense?

Last time I checked, Ted Bundy never got elected to the Presidency by 50 some odd million people...and Clinton didn't run around crushing the skulls of several dozen college girls with a baseball bat.

Might not be a bad idea to consider using a more relative (and pertinent) reference.

(Just a thought).

popeye1250 -> RE: Clinton's recent interview (9/22/2006 10:26:52 PM)

Ltrsub, correct but they were both "charming", wouldn't you agree?
Bundy had to be Clinton tries to be.

NorthernGent -> RE: Clinton's recent interview (9/23/2006 1:08:30 AM)

Bearlee,

In an interview a couple of years ago, Blair stated that Clinton is the most impressive politician he has ever seen. When asked about Bush, he floundered and said something along the lines of "...well, he has strong opinions...."

I think what impressed people most (in this country) about Clinton was not the content of his speeches but more that he was a superb administrator in the sense that he was articulate, self-assured and charasmatic (some may say smarmy - take your pick). Personally, he wasn't my cup of tea, too much packaging for my liking but, to pick up on your point about Clinton v Bush reputation abroad, in Britain, the general view is that he is head and shoulders above Bush and any other of the visible US politicians.

Regards

"Ltrsub, correct but they were both "charming", wouldn't you agree?"

...i'm sure you have been described as 'charming' on occasion.....does that make you a serial murderer or a politician?
When we see our politicians attempt to smear either an idea or a person by associating it with someone or something negative it says a vast amount more about them than their intended target.
Or are you actually trying to suggest that all charming people are serial killers, in a literal sense?
