jesskitty -> firefox users, help! (9/21/2006 9:38:52 AM)

hello. i am a firefox user and for some reason, this website won't let me copy and paste script in my journal on here and in my profile. everytime it shows me it sends me to this link:http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/securityprefs.html?

i'm not technical at all and i am extremly confused and am needing extreme guidance on getting it. i don't want to type out 300 or so words again(for my journal mainly). can someone that knows how to do this please message me via the collarme mail, so i can give out my screename(i have trillian, so i have msn, yahoo, and aim) to you or you to me so i can get this problem fixed?

thanks in advance.

Try going under the edit menu and choosing copy or paste, depending on which you want to do. It's set up that way in order to keep people from spamming, I think.

I've always had that problem... well actually not the problem you seem to have now that I checked your link.  Usually it just tells me I'm not allowed to, for security reasons or something like that.

I just open internet explorer for when I have to cut and paste into one of those sections.  Seems easier to me..

CTRL + C will copy the highlighted text
CTRL + V will paste it.

I just use ie for the journal/profile here.  Actually it's the only time I use ie.

I always use IE when poting a journal entry. Sometimes copy and paste does not even work when I write messages out in Word and try pasting them in with firefox. Even when I got it to copy and paste in a journal entry, the formatting was horrible.

Also firefox for me does not have any of the quick reply buttons that people talk about in the message area and maybe more things I am unaware of.

that's what i normally do. but it does not work with firefox...

thank you whoever suggested to use the edit paste option, for some weird reason that works!

Ja, I went round and round about this, and looked at the website, there is a problem with your load of firefox (and has been there off and on for a while), can't cut and paste in these versions.  does your ff lose the cursor (mostly to the left side) when you reply to forum posts?  mine does.

it is a firefox problem.

Under Tools,Options,Content. Check the " Load Images " box. This might allow you to see certain buttons and other things.

Here's the work-around:

Resize your browser and Word (or whatever other word-processing program you are using) so that they appear side-by-side on your monitor screen.  Highlight the text in Word that you want to copy into your journal (or comment), then right-click and hold on to the highlighted text, drag and release it into the box on the browser.

VoilĂ !
