Status: offline 		"Tamperproof" security fasteners no longer offer security, they just deter the casual vandal. Even if you don't want to buy the right tool(s) to remove such fasteners, many of them (including the spanner head) can be removed with a pair of needle nose pliers.

I do enjoy the use of a "collar of consideration" and these are usually some type of blue, as well training collars, personal submissive collars, a slave collar (locking, of course - metal or black leather), dress and formal collars, to more necklace-types which can be worn for vanilla occassions, and I've even had one in a "collar of protection". I enjoy the special sentiment of giving collars as much as one enjoys wearing a collar given in emotion. Yet, while I want to show My feelings toward a submissive, I am not likely to jump and give a locking slave collar to one so early on in a relationship but why deny the kind sentiment and joy of sharing a collar with a new submissive.

Much like various forms of rings to show affection, devotion, love and commitment, etc., like a sweetheart ring, a promise ring, an engagement, and a wedding ring, I view collars much in the same light. For Me, they are merely sweet symbols of the current status of our relationship to be given and worn purely for the sake of enjoyment by the parties involved in the relationship, and not in any effort to claim ownership or declare status to others outside the relationship.

To each their own, truly!! Collars are only but what we make them, after all, and are simply symbols of emotion and commitment of whatever degree!

Status: offline 		In my Humble opinion collars should be individualized based upon the dedication/suage of the bottom. And as with everything in this lifestyle it's the ultimate choice of the Master/Mistress/Dom/me/Top to decide.

For me (being a Switch)....in Collaring my Slave.....and being in the pagan traditions where the importances of colors are touched upon if not outright adhered to....I tend to take the time to find out that my Salve's "Power Color" is.

My personal "Power Color" is purple....thus in Mistress Mode I am often clad in Purple. My weak color is Brown or Orange, hence when I'm Slave to my Master I am often clad in my Brown Leather Collar.

I could post the different Pagan traditional meanings and powers of colors if anyone is interested. But really it's all about self discovery as well as discovery of your partner(s)

I will say that Black is the color of protection.....thus I can see why a Top would wish to collar their slave/sub with a black collar......as it can not only represent the ownership but placing that Owner's Protection on his/her property. (just a thought)

I see the color is not the issue but what the meaning behind them are.I'm not sure the custom but I'm designing and going to make My slaves collar unless anyone knows a good leather crater that can help.Later. Borch.

Status: offline 		personally i have a few collars, that if i am good, i may choose for the outfit, or Master will choose it. It depends on my attire for the evening, or day, or whatever. i have a beautiful pearl, garnet , and hematite, and braided black leather, which currently has stones woven into the braiding, a spiky fun collar, a gold chain ...... i am very proud of all my collars, after all the important collar is the one around my heart.
