I agree that finding a real world local group is important. However, I do think it's important that a newbie sub arm themselves with some knowledge, so I recommend doing a lot of reading. These message boards do contain a lot of information (though you do have to wade through some crap too!). Another site I recommend is SteelDoor ... the Chamber there has lots of articles and Mistress Steel writes articulately. My advice is to take it SLOW! I know how easy it is to get caught up in the rush, in the urgent desire to try this out, to be swept off your feet into submission. However, your experiences are likely to be far more satisfying (and much safer) if you take time to get to know people before rushing in to play or service. So your first port of call should be a munch, which is a social meeting, a chance to chat to likeminded people in your area. And DON'T go playing with someone until you know the meaning of all of the following terns and have put some into place: Safe call Safe word Limits Negotiation Sub drop Aftercare Good luck!
