How come we can go to the moon, but we can't find one man?

I believe Bush officially called off the search for Bin Laden about 4 month's ago.  So...we can't find him because we don't want to.

Is Bin Laden dead?

Since he's the best enemy that money can buy... the fact that this question has even surfaced in the mainstream press may indicate some sort of political or propagandist advantage to the powers-that-be over his possible death.

Quite frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if he's been dead for quite some time already. Nor would it surprise me if the powers-that-be knew all along where he has been.

The question is: How long will it take for the powers-that-be to burn the image of a new enemy in the hearts and minds of the masses?

My guess? The new enemy focus will come from within Iran. Don't forget, just like Iraq before them, they dared to stop accepting US Dollars for oil. You don't fuck with the elite money power and get away with it.

I am just thinking, besides the liver and onions, about the profound political advantage there would be to bringing Osama's head home on a platter, just like Hussein.  If they knew where he was, the 2004 elections were the prime time to flaunt him to everyone.

So I have to admit I sit on the fence on this one,  even though the arguments can be made that he is dead.

It's an interesting thought.

Perhaps the powers-that-be were not as concerned about the 2004 elections, compared to saving such a trump card for a later date/use.

Also, if Bin Laden were outed in 2004, what would we have done with him?

Finally, who knows what kind of behind-the-scenes deal Bush made with the Bin Laden family?

siouxie -> RE: Is Bin Laden Dead? (9/23/2006 4:30:43 PM)

That kind of death would be too good for him...LOL

French intelligence?  That is a bit of a contradiction in terms, no?

Osama, or 'Binny' as we refer to him here at McGintie's (the local watering hole) is alive and well and collecting a government paycheck, for services rendered.

Yes. Has been for some time now. And alive for some time now. Depending on what is politically useful at the moment.
