*  Disclaimer... this is a rant.

So.. are any of you ugly old guys who tell your subs they are too fat and need to lose weight pissed off by my verbiage?  I hope so, that was my intention, as I am so drained by the constant repetition of the fat chick rant on these forums.  They are insulting, degrading and destructive not only to 'fat chicks' but to all women.  The enforcement of one ideal of beauty, and the constant drum beat of 'you must be this to be of worth' is an affront to women, period.  There is something which smacks of the sinister in taking spectrum and variance away from the realms of acceptable possibilities.

How many times will the 'fat subs' condemnation post be brought up on these forums? 

Why is it okay for people to use the weight of a submissive as her only measure of worth?

And who else is piqued by the irony that many of the men behind the scenes of these questions are less than the epitome of physical (or intellectual) attractiveness themselves?  If you are going to impose some standardization of beauty upon your property, at least have the decency to have maxed out your own personal hygiene potential.

What motivates an owner to correct the imperfections in the property but not themselves?

Answering this thread, I feel like I'm identifying with the old, butt ugly, unkempt, hillbilly, uneducated, punk, crooked, inept...what am I leaving out, Doms. LOL.

Seriously, I have only once suggested a woman lose weight and that was done so carefully. I am into working out, physical fitness and healthful eating and was tactfully trying to lend her a hand and motivate her. I don't think I hurt her feelings.

I may call a sub a cunt, bitch, whore and fuckslut, but there are certain things I DON'T SAY. Personal attacks about physical appearance are some of the areas I would never enter. I do understand what you mean.

Self esteem as a whole is down in the lifestyle.  I know mine is not where it should be...just too much stress.

Yet, it is up compared to many.

In any event...the pot calling the kettle black sentiment does go around quite a bit.

Generally those pots are the least attractive of the lifestyle.

I wholeheartedly DIS-agree with that premise.

There are plenty of them.

Both mentally and physically unattractive.

But thats just one persons opinion.

But...by and large...MENTALLY unattractive.

I don't know about that, my ex-husband of 20 years is STILL whining. At least thats the rumour....he's too scared of me to get within 1000 miles to do it in person.

Au contraire...there are many butt ugly women out there.

We men are simply not as often graded (thankfully) on our beauty.

However, I would like to add one very small point:  Contrary to popular opinion, it isn't male dominated publications (such as Forbes, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal etc.) that focus on womens beauty (these tend to focus ads on things like realllllyyyyyyy expensive diamonds and such that we should buy for you), rather, it's Cosmo, Savvy, Womens Daily and such that focus on why (and how) you should be thin.

Most men (and yes, even those who read Forbes and Fortune, et al) are just damn glad to have a woman (preferably naked) next to them.  (And, as it just so happens, those who happen to read publications such as Forbes, Fortune and the Wall Street Journal, can indeed afford the type of women that appear in the ads that are generally portrayed in those illustrious publications hahaha...but I digress).

Soooooooo....for those of you who think that society is telling you to fit a certain dress or to carry your Prada purse in just such a fashion....be aware...it ain't men that are telling you this.

(It's women).

I'd like to be at least one voice for "fat, old and ugly Doms". I'm old (63), certainly overweight (288) and possibly ugly (but I'm not qualified to judge that. Self-image, you know).

I have never valued a submisive by the pound. I have never valued a submissive by how she looks either. The content is far more important than the packaging.

I have seen Internet postings of women who were decidedly not fat, but maybe a few pounds over the weight of the average runway model. Usually the reviews of the photo have at least one idiot berating her for being a fat pig.

There are, unfortunately, some in this world that can only make themselves look better by making others look worse.

Frankly, I'll take an overweight women any day over a Playboy bunny with a shitty attitude, bad breath and a body odor like old sweat socks.

Actually if you read the fat people thread, about 80% of it is

a)  Women saying "Fat people are beautiful!"

b)  Women saying "Stop talking bad about fat people!"

c)  Women saying "Don't let anyone try and put you down for being fat!"

It's actually VERY RARE that someone will start a thread that says "Fat people suck."  Almost always it's someone asking "Why are there so many fat people in the scene?" or "Why do so many doms dislike fat people?"

And then fat people start up with the three aforementioned statements ad nauseam.

Anyone is allowed to have ANY standards they want for anyone else.  So stop getting annoyed at someone else for deciding what type of person they want and telling you that you don't fit.

Is insulting someone appropriate?  No.  If someone doesn't fit your profile, you simply say thanks but no thanks and move on.

BUt insulting people are also everywhere online- follow the advice we give to everyone who posts the "Why do I get dorky emails?" thread...IGNORE THEM.

Hmmm. A newbie here so I expect to be flamed. Age and the changes age brings to a face/skin are only alterable by surgery which is a huge undertaking - OK; creams, staying out of the sun, genetics and goood ol' life can add or detract from the wrinkle count but once you have a 40/50/60 year old face the knife is your only option (unless, shock horror you LIKE the way you are!). However you have total control over your body. Eat too much/the wrong foods = you'll get fat. Eat sensible portions of low fat/low sugar food = you won't. Eat cereals, vegetables, fruit, lean meat, fish - it ain't rocket science.

Personally, I do not participate in (nor, have I noticed) "fat chick" threads (I tend to ignore the ones that are rather silly)
 
My opinion:
If someone is posting that women (in general) should lose weight - that is pretty poor form and a sincerely idiotic thing *as though anyone would?.
 
However - (as you seemed to infer) if the person being told to lose weight is property of another... then what are you whining abouts?
 
That is part and parcel of their relationship and not up for debate - and, the dominant's "ideal" is the only one that matters in this instance - not societies, not mine, and certainly not your's...
 
(now - if THE INDIVIDUAL who was ordered to lose weight is posting and whining about this, that is another issue entirely... and, I would find that completely out of line to take public an issue which is between the two - but, that is me.)
