I'm a bassist so my scene audio tends to run in slow, heavy beat, drum/bass electronica. Heavy Industrial sometimes works as well.

However, as a primer I would offer Dub music. Varients include studio mixers such as Tino's Hallowe'en Dub namely Footstep Dub or Wicked Insane Evil Dub. Those two are fun. Scientist, Dub Syndicate rate as well.

add some rammstien. I generally like spanish guitar and some of the masters have transcribed lots of classical work for the quiet parts.

You really have to have the taste for it but pussy galore has some incredible work. "dont give a fuck about you' actually uses a whip. My copy is a bad bootleg that works perfectly. Its hard to beat a band with songs like "c*nt tease" although that song doesnt work too well. Ok im rambling but nashville pussy if youve got a little rockabilly in you. Or at least for the drive home if your just visiting. "nashville pussy- rose tattoo- nice boys don't play rock and roll"
