For my Dom and I, the basic rules are the ones that have been discussed: Respect. Honesty. Trust. Communication. These tend to build onto one another, in my opinion. Communication has been a big one since we're both new to this lifestyle. Trust falls into that one because there is huge amount of trust required to be able to be in a D/s relationship, at least in my opinion. I expect him to be honest about what he likes/dislikes/desires, ect. And while he may, from time to time, refer to me as "his slut" (ect) I know that he isn't degrading me. He respects me as a person, as his sub, and as his wife.
