Hello A/all,

In addition to diagnosing psychiatric disorders from reading posts over the internet, Canada frequently provides medications over the Internet to people in the US to allow them to avoid the Pharma companies price fixing on medications in the US.  I am looking forward to obtaining the appropriate perscriptions for what ails us posted for julia and myself in a few posts.

I cant wait.

I cannot speak for the educational system in Canada, but to become licensed in most states to practice psychiatry or counseling in the United States, the following standards generally apply.

A counselor is somebody you can go to talk to about problems and psychological issues.  They have 7 or more years of study in psychology and counseling.  A Dr. of Psychology can go even further with this, as their level of expertise is 8-10 years in the study of psychology and counseling.

A psychiatrist goes to pre-medical school and then medical school to earn their M.D. and then does a year or so of study in psychiatry from the standpoint of using medications to alleviate symptoms of psychiatric disorders.

To summarize:  A psychologist can provide expert counseling, advice, etc., to their patients.  A psychiatrist might (this would not be their specialty; you dont ask the plumber to fix your car, for example) be able to provide some general forms of counseling, but more importantly, they can provide medications to aid the afflicted should medications be required. 

They both have their place in the field of mental health, but I personally find the distinction to be extremely important when choosing a mental health care provider.

Sweetling you are correct, if Sinergy  was Knights sub and wanted Twice to follow protocol then he should have as well, meaning exactly what you said; he should have taken the matter up with Scooter and Jewel. If Sinergy is not his sub then he had no right to comment on her behavior citing protocol violations as the reason for doing so.

Don't ask.  Up until page 17 or so, there was some interesting dialogue, interspersed with some bickering.  Then about halfway down page 18, it turned into the Jerry Springer show.

Either this is an open forum where all are free to converse as they choose or it is not. As you so admirably demonstrated you feel quite free to direct comments of this nature at the property of other dominants so please explain to me why i should extend this courtesy to you?

I think for many, those here for the instant gratification this is true, but i know of many who even though they wince when the hear the word honor due to it's over use still have honor in their lives.

That about sums it up, and lost in the shuffle were some pretty good definitions offered up by teamnoir on page 17. Unfortunately he's gonna perish along with the rest of us because his definitions aren't biased like those offered by the first camp.

Oh, and now we have a psychiatrist demonstrating his sanity by taking on all comers in a pissing match. Just remember there is a new rule for the forums -- as a woman you need to follow proper protocol if you want to join in.

What is curious is that the poster gave out enough information for me to contact St. Michaels Hospital, get the phone number of his practice, and contact him if
I so choose to ask him about his postings on this message board regarding
his comments to my submissive.  This is not done because I am interested in stalking him, I personally find his comments to be reprehensible and completely out of line with the protocols espoused by people I know in the Toronto scene.

Not that I would be so base as to engage in such behaviors, but I find it curious that an alleged upstanding member of the professional community in Toronto would really want it made public knowledge of his activities in this lifestyle.

I personally think that this person is a legitimate psychiatrist.  What I also suspect
is that his nickname and professional credentials are being hijacked by somebody else to further his or her own agenda. 

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

I would think that a phone call that would definitively clear the matter up would be preferable to an accusation. Just me....I could be wrong.
