Many of you may not know this, but a founding member of the BDSM community in the Hudson Valley, NY area has passed away recently.

He was not active here at CM, but I do know of a few people who are familiar with that area and the people in it who lurk here. Therefore I am making this post here so that they may know of his passing.

Tart was a special individual with deep care and concern for people in the scene, especially new comers. He gently guided many people into acceptance of themself and watched with quiet delight as they blossomed. He was humble, gentle and kind; he cared a great deal for the d/s community and devoted much of his life to it.

Tart, you will be missed by many. I'll look for you on the other side and we will laugh again, together.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Suz, and for those in your community. It's a wonderful tribute to this man's life that he has left such a positive mark on the people around him!

We had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago. Truly a wonderful person. Your words speak volumes of the person and spirit of being. Those who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing I am sure will silently reflect on the ways they were touched.

Shayna:

Thank you for your kind words. Tart was indeed a person who left a quiet but significant mark on the lives of many. He will be sorely missed by more than one or two.

I doubt he would have wanted too much bru-haha over it all, though. Laughter was his calling card, and in the last few days many of us have laughed heartily when reminiscing. I think he would have approved.

OMC:

Thank you for posting. I'm glad that you had the opportunity to meet him. He was often described as a "gentle giant" and he quietly and unofficially mentored many. He was a great supporter of my former studio, The Void, and I have TONS of good memories of him because of it.

His integrity was high, his caring deep and his laughter infectious. I'm glad there are people like him in this world and especially in the scene.

In sharing my condolences, i also think a person like him would want people be happy with his memory.

My best wishes are with You.
