Status: offline 		I appologize for getting way too much work done today. I can actually SEE the top of my desk. My three humongous stacks of filing have all been filed. The paper I thought I ordered wrong came in correct. I sat thru not one but TWO meetings with paper salesmen and did not yawn once. When the boss said he owed us big because he has been an asshole lately I only agreed and refrained from telling him just how MUCH of an asshole he has been. All in all, I was way too well behaved today and for this I appologize.
I am now trying to make up for my stellar behaviour by eating too many BBQ Pringles.

Status: offline 		To the waitress I snapped at when she brought me a plate with cole slaw on it even though when she took the order I requested twice that she not even get cole slaw anywhere near my main course and that I didn't even want to see it on my plate, then when I returned it to the kitchen, all they did was scrap the cole slaw off and leave cole slaw feces on my plate. It grossed me out and I snapped at her even though it probably wasn't her fault. I ended up unable to eat the main course because of my gross out for even seeing cole slaw, the most disgusting 'food' stuff ever invented.

I'm sorry I snapped at you. Himself was disappointed in me as he had every right to be and I shouldn't have reacted to something like that or in that way.

That said, I will never, ever step foot inside an Applebee's again unless I'm forced to do so upon pain of death or command of Master. That's how much I hate cole slaw. I don't even like the name of it! Slaw .. sounds like something you slop the pigs with to me.

I can't think of a worse punishment on the planet than being made to look at the stuff ... I can't even comprehend eating it. I'd rather eat a plateful of scat than a plateful of slaw.



Oh, and this was about 3 years ago .. better late than never, but it's not my fault it took Lotus so long to put this thread up.  I think she should apologize for procrastinating.

Hmm, this is very insightful Lotus! Where do you get your inspiration for this wonderful thread I wonder?

I'm sure I heard something similar when I was up in Scotland on business. I was in the fishing town of Peterhead, when I noticed a lovely old church in a sidestreet (you know a church is a kirk in Scotland?). So I went into the kirk and the minister was giving a sermon on something or other - I dont remember the exact story he was using, but I do distinctly remember he used that bit from the bible, about the left hand and right hand not knowing what the other is doing? The point was that when it feels right, we are doing the right thing, and when it feels wrong, we are doing the wrong thing, and sometimes when we find ourselves doing things the wrong way, it can feel really, really bad - so our best course of action is to make amends, however painful that might be, so that we can feel good again.

Anyway I left, and wandered down the street, pondering about how many hands there were on Peterhead and whether any of them knew what they were doing, and how much suffering there must be on Peterhead in order to make amends. I've wondered on that day and the lesson I learned, I would think, a thousand times. Its etched into my memory like the lines on a chalkboard.
