ORIGINAL: LotusSong (the longer I wait.. the worse it will be).... Hmm, this is very insightful Lotus! Where do you get your inspiration for this wonderful thread I wonder? I'm sure I heard something similar when I was up in Scotland on business. I was in the fishing town of Peterhead, when I noticed a lovely old church in a sidestreet (you know a church is a kirk in Scotland?). So I went into the kirk and the minister was giving a sermon on something or other - I dont remember the exact story he was using, but I do distinctly remember he used that bit from the bible, about the left hand and right hand not knowing what the other is doing? The point was that when it feels right, we are doing the right thing, and when it feels wrong, we are doing the wrong thing, and sometimes when we find ourselves doing things the wrong way, it can feel really, really bad - so our best course of action is to make amends, however painful that might be, so that we can feel good again. Anyway I left, and wandered down the street, pondering about how many hands there were on Peterhead and whether any of them knew what they were doing, and how much suffering there must be on Peterhead in order to make amends. I've wondered on that day and the lesson I learned, I would think, a thousand times. Its etched into my memory like the lines on a chalkboard. E
