WhyteRavenne -> Story time is great, but... (9/28/2006 2:41:43 PM)

I know, the journals are a personal thing.  So, I guess I have no reason to gripe, but, when they are in a profile, well, now I think I will!

I don't know why someone would write a story telling me what I would think, must be feeling and in total, just asinine babble of idiotic proportions!

I find it as couth as someone trying to "cyber" with me and saying I either have hair where I don't, or assume that I'm wearing clothes (which, in general, being a nudist) I don't.  DO NOT tell me what I'm enjoying, or what I'm thinking!  I spent many years trying to figure it out, and most likely, you are wrong.

So, where does it fit in with bdsm?  I have recently been sent an email about what I supposedly want, need and desire, while being told that I was being beaten (if someone hit me that many time, I would be!  Also, I am not into a lot of what was being said), and enjoying it.  That's nice, glad to know I was there...  Now, if I wanted to read a story about my life, I think I would do better writing it.

I KNOW I'm an opinionated bitch from the darkest recesses of the moon.  I KNOW my thoughts are not generally shared with the masses.. (however, I'm right in this case... *giggle*).  Be that  as it may, I would like to know others opinions whether they agree with mine or not (and if you don't.. how about sharing your side with me?)

You are all beautiful.

I will start by agreeing with your signature line..

God she was great in that role :)

Ravenne

It happens to all of us from time to time. delete and block and ignore it. Probably someone onehanded typing while they were writing it to you ( icky mental picture i know hehe)

You can't stop it from happening you can only choose not to read it.

toservez -> RE: Story time is great, but... (9/28/2006 2:59:09 PM)

I tend to agree although if done with some effort it sometimes shows they understand us which can be good, but there must be more information about them or really what is the point.  I do not want to read a message or profile what I am all about and need. I want to know what the person is all about and wants and while an erotic story takes some effort to write, it is also not really sharing that much information and is almost always a copy and paste generic message and we submissive just love those so much!

ToGiveDivine -> RE: Story time is great, but... (9/28/2006 3:04:59 PM)

I've seen journals that clarify what they have in their profile (toservez ;-) because they are tired of answering the same questions over and over.

It depends on what they put in their journal (yes toservez, yours is just fine :-D)

On the other side of the coin - the journal writer may not care about other people's opinion on their journal (why is toservez pointing in my direction?  LOL)

Long babble short, you have to take the good with the bad

It's because they already knew you would be reading it.

They havent a clue and you should email them back and thank them for showing their ignorance right of the bat instead of making you waste your time finding it.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Story time is great, but... (9/28/2006 6:31:57 PM)

I’m not sure I get this. Someone wrote in his profile something directed at you personally or are you just saying in general that you don’t like profiles that are story like and talk about things a sub may desire? I totally understand your displeasure with the unsolicited e-mail telling you what you want, need, etc, but I’m not sure I get the profile thing.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Story time is great, but... (9/28/2006 6:47:08 PM)

Im as confused as ExSteel... was the gripe about a profile, or an email?  Or both, an email from someone writing you a novelette?

I'l have an opinion once I know what im pondering.

Put me on the side with ExSteel and tempting...I am confused.  Was it an email that bugged you or a profile?

jesskitty -> RE: Story time is great, but... (9/29/2006 7:19:33 PM)

at first it was an annoyance. now it's amusement. you can break it down and joke along with it. when life gives you lemons, make lemon-ade(those frozen lemon treats you know).

charismagirrl -> RE: Story time is great, but... (9/29/2006 7:39:04 PM)

if the issue is in their profiles...the journal area, and they're writing a story....maybe it is annoying to you but to another it may show that the person in question is creative (or not) what kind of grasp on the english language one may have (or not) and so forth.

...it could also tell you how their mind works alot better than "Hi i'm so and so and like this and that and my vanilla intersts are XYZ and I'm looking for a blah blah blah yadda yadda" (not trivalizing all of the other profiles rather there are just too many possible options to go through so i wrote it in "gibberish")...maybe in their story someone may hear something that rings so true to them that they feel the need to contact the story teller or they may say "Ummmm maybe not so much" and then CLICK...Next profile.

Just a a different pov (and i do not have a profile with a story)
