I used to be wary of humiliation, as well. I'd had some bad experiences with it in the past (being humiliated then rejected) and had a very real fear of being made to feel like that again. In the relationship I'm in now, however, humiliation has taken on a whole different context. Coupled with love and acceptance I have found it to be a very positive experience. Very similar to the pain / comfort loop.
