I wish to respectfully ask the Masters here a question about journals.If your property writes one that you may or may not always read.

If you have owned your slave for quite some time and she/he gets writers block in regards to their journal, when it seems like they have written all there is to about themselves. And the Master knows them inside out. How do you encourage them to keep writing? Or what would you like to have them write about if you chose to help them through this blockage?

I have been with Master for many years and often find it hard to put much into written words. I sometimes think what i may write is uninteresting and quite a few times only repetitive. I know it is not a good idea to just sing the Master praises, but is it wrong to once in a while tell him how you still feel about your relationship with him? Or even what may tick a slave off about her Master at times?

Thank you for any opinions and offerings you can give.

Life doesn't stop, new experiences don't stop. Journals aren't just about what is and what was- but about what's BECOMING.

That being said, I think pressuring someone to write or journal goes against the purpose of it. If there nothing going on for a few days, then there's nothing going on.

sorry, i'm not a Dom/Master, nor a slave (just a sub who can't mind her own business)... i have 2 blogs and i just write in them when i need to express something which nobody would really want to listen to at the time.

Well....
there is the journal section in CM....
a public blog like on yahoo or myspace...
or a private journal that only a select few see, or only you....

I do all three.... I love to write my mind and heart for when I do, I see myself better... but I select where I place that information. I am private so I am aware that I do NOT want my private thoughts in a public venue...thoughts like how I feel or my fears or my anger or anything I dont want to be betrayed by.

On CM I put vanilla stuff..... we forget we are POEPLE with lives outside of WIITWD.... so paddles up and seize the water !!

On 360 yahoo I communicate with my family and friends or share a great movie or something I read.....

I am assuming your Dom wants you keeping a journal? If so, say what is on your heart and mind ....write stream of consciousness and stop only when your heart and brain is empty ..... somedays it is only one phrase other days a huge dialogue will arise.....

It is a discipline.

Dear mystique2003, Ladies and Gentlemen;

A journal can be seen like a diary. As a Owner, I wrote a journal as well. When one writes to the journal, you write to yourself.

I would also consider a slave journal a window into the slave's spirit and emotions. I expect the slave to pour out their thoughts and feelings, no matter how ugly. It is not all about spelling, perfect letters and form. If it rambles, it rambles.

If there is a writer's block, I recommend picking five things that may be considered negative things that you experienced, such as; I had to pick up some trash from the hiking trail because somebody wasn't tidy and would hurt animals. The hairstyle you tried turned out awful, etc.
Then, I would write about five positive things; for example--I helped a little old man with his groceries, I found a good book, etc. You will find that you (in general terms) do make a difference every day.

You could always draw pictures.

Journals can keep details. Can record future doctor appointments or dates that are important. Journals can be a form of venting and just as much giving you a dialog with yourself. Sometimes the questions you ask of your journal, will provide the answers. It can be a scrap book. A flower can be pressed into it's pages and the story how it got there can be the topic.

Just some thoughts.

There are several books out that are basically books of questions, such as "The Book of Questions" or "1000 Questions for Couples." If you really need to write every day you might consider buying one and answering a question a day.

You could also comment on new stories or cm posts or other types of things you found interesting that day.

I always like to know about a person's childhood and/or teen years. So I guess maybe I would like to read old stories from youth.
