Bra Help - 10/1/2006 3:01:47 PM

I wear a size 40 DD.  I have been told by a couple of friends (who don't even know each other) that my boobs do not sit up enough (that is their nice way of telling me I sag too much).  I need help finding bras that are sexy and supportive.  I would love some bras that give me the lift I apparently need.  Can anyone suggest some brands and/or styles I should try?  Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

How about 2 nipple clamps connected to a chain around your neck?

surely in the dc area they have a fredrick's of hollywood.  i wear a 38 dd, and find lots of fun things there.  also, layne bryant has tons of stuff for us bigger, more endowed girls.  the types of bras you're going to want to look for are called push-up bras.  they come in different neckline and have differing amounts of padding, but the important things to remember are:
1. they are not going to cover all of your breast.  they will usually have either a deep v-neck or a square neck (calle a balconette, and one of my favorite types of bra) and coverbetween the bottom half to 2/3 of the breast.
2.  they are going to have underwire.  the fact is that you will have more support from a wired bra than an unwired one.  thet's why it's important to get measured and try on different styles.
3.  they are going to be padded.  soft materials, like unwired bras, simply will not give you any shape.  they don't have to have a huge amount of padding, but there will be some.  most of it should be at the bottom of the bra and along the outer side to lift the breast and push it inward.  graduated pads are some of my favorite since they are thick at the bottom and side, but thin out over the rest of the bra.  as an added bonus, you can get cold in a padded bra without your nipples showing.

when you go shopping, go to a reputable shop that only sells lengerie.  remember, you get what you pay for (to a point), so wal-mart is not your best bet.  get measured, and tell the sales person what you're looking for.  something sexy, but not too extream (you'll probably want to actually wear them for more than being nearly nude), that helps to lift and define your shape.  if there's a certain look you like, tell them.  i happen to love the sweater girls of the 40s and 50s, so i tend to look for a bra that will give me that shape.

and for maximum cleaveg, corsets really are the way to go.  but please, don't buy one at the lengeri shop where you buy your bras.  they won't fit well, they won't sit well, they won't be very comfortable and they won't hold up.  but one from a corsetire, or have one custome made.

Lane Bryant has some lovely bras...
I've tried more expensive brands like Wacoal, but Lane B's supported bras work best for holding them up and adding to rather than trying to conceal your attractive bosoms.
I agree Fredericks of Hollywood also has Nice support bras, except that I had some itchiness on nipples due to the materials, so that I tend to stay with Lane B brands nowadays.  M

There is no way to avoid sagging and nipples pointing down if you are 40DD (trust me).   So, it is important to hold those babies up and support them well, while wearing comfortable brasieres, which Lane B makes nowadays.  Other people make Bras that fit, but Lane B makes them to be sexy as well.
I think pointing down naturally comes after the age of 30 (LMAO),  and frankly, 40DD would look freaky if they pointed straight out; but there is no reason they can't look good when in a Bra as well.   M

I used to be a bra fitter here in the uk brands like Fantasie and Panache are great really shove them up by your ears. If you cant get hold of them look at the shape of the bras you are buying you want somethign underwired with a good strong side panel that will help in the lift department no ends.
If the bra on the hanger looks nice and round  its probably not going to give you any real bust definition. If it looks somethign akin to a maddona bra your looking in the right place it will feel strange and you will feel slilly but its amazing what a good bra can do for your figure once your lifted and seperated you appear slimmer (and get served at bars quicker lol )
hope that helps

E

PS - just a thought. Given that all these guys reckon their trouser snake is big / small / average - how come Y fronts dont come in different sizes?

I am a 34 to a 36 DD (yes style of the bra can impact the size I choose). I like underwire bras personally, and I like the bra snug around the ribcage. Most of the pressure should be off your shoulders when it comes to supporting your breasts... experts say only 10 percent of the pressure should come from the straps. And as the one gal said, get fitted.... it is worth it

Good thing I don't do male dominants, because this would be a hard limit for me...  It's akin to my telling you to get a penile reduction, know what I'm sayin"?  LMAO.
I would never pay for plastic surgery while I know people who are hungry and can hardly afford to keep their homes, but more importantly, I would never ever reduce my beautiful breasts.    M

That is nonsense.  I know someone very well that is a 42 E that the boobs and nipples are nice and perky.  It is only if you sit down or lean forwards that they should point down.  Otherwise they should not sag too much and point downwards unless you do not look after your body or let the muscles in your chest go to shit.  Do not get Me wrong.  I have seen ugly boobs that point downwards as you mentioned, but I have seen plenty in that size that are nice and perky and even firm..  mmmmm.

I would love love LOVE to have the money for a reduction myself. There is no off-the-rack bra in my size. If one can afford it, getting sized and fit for the proper size and style of bra is the best way for sure.
