ORIGINAL: willow06 Looks like you go for big names in anime. I suppose I should put what I'm into, but I'm more of a manga person myself. Let's see... what are the latest additions to my overflowing bookshelves? Saiyuki, Loveless, Mar, Never Give Up, Naruto, Tsubasa, XXXholic, Prince of Tennis, Hikaru no Go, Antique Bakery, D.Gray-Man, Bleach, Death Note... "Manga is crack." Someone pointed out to me that I should check out the university's anime club. I remember that I took a friend to check it out once, but she was intimidated by the strange people in the dark room... I can't sew either. *sadness* I figure yaoi is all to the good. If all the 12-year old girls dig it, then maybe tolerance levels will go up as they get older. Then again, I don't know that I really want my (non-existent) 12-year old to be reading yaoi. edited to add a couple more titles... i don't really like it. being bisexual myself and having lots of glbt friends from what i've seen is they make a seperation between yoai and actually being gay. they think yoai is okay but really being glbt is another thing.*shrugs* what cha gunna do? well it's not really big names..it's more that's all i really know about. i read graphic novels, i don't know japanese and currently don't have time to take nor really have an interst in learning the actual languge. so i'm pretty much stuck with what tokyopop decides to give us as options to pick from. when it came to anime back then i knew about so many i wanted to pick ones i knew about and i only really got my source of info from animerica. to this day i don't really like bittorrent, it' diminishes the struggle and ownership of buying your products. you worked hard for the money or getting it, you spent months waiting to get your folks to take you to the store or to get it in your time and you finally get it. you expand your circle by looking for certain things and sharring a base knowledge of anime/manga that everyone knows. that's the old school way. not downloading it, they don't really apreicate anime nowadays i think..but that's just my thinking because they never really had to work to get it.but as stated over the past 2-3 years i'm more into manga..been into shoujo...and now it's abit spreading more towards adult shoujo or whatever that's called..don't know exact manga terms since i'm still new to it. but i love love love yu watase, she is genius! peach girl disapointed me majorly, after reading made in heaven i wanted my 20 bucks back. i thought pita-ten was just to cute but a sad ending..i get really emotional and cry, laugh, etc while i'm reading.lol i've herad of everything you said but antique bakery..anime/manga..crack is cheaper right? personally though most of them are outside of my genre so i guess that's why i don't really look at them. EDIT: wait i forgot to say i don't really like big names in another sense either. i'm one of the few people that can honestly say i hate trigun, i'm not into naurto, and i don't get what hte big deal is with raxaphone(sp?). i knew about rouni kenshin when i first started to get into anime 6/7 years ago because the first anime people i congregated around loved kenshin. but i didn't really get it and i didn't like it until it came on cartoon network and then i was hooked..the ending sucks monkey balls though.
