You should sit down and read all three of the Beauty books, since they contain plenty of male servitude, especially in Beauty's Punishment and Beauty's Release which contain the stories of the male slaves Tristan and Laurent. You can always skip over the female slavery parts. I loved the Beauty trilogy. They were the first bdsm related stories I ever read. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty was hard for me to get through, since it is mostly about Beauty's enslavement and is very nonconsensual and femsub which is not my cup of tea, but there are plenty of male slaves and dominant women in it. The books get progressively better and naughtier and have a happy ending.

I agree with you, dommemst. I have read those pony boy scenes at least 47 times. Can't think of any male-submissive fiction that is better.

"Nah, it's kind of cute. He is just saying how he feels. He doesn't like to read about female enslavement. "

That's how I took it, too: that he was just explaining why he seeks femdom/male sub erotica because the femslave stuff squicks him. Okay, he also said, "Stories should never contain words of 'enslavement to men' " but taken in context it's clearly just an opinion. There's no need to overreact, he hasn't got the power to ban anyone's fun and games :)

There's some tsk-tsking and "ya gotta be more tolerant" talk coming down on this guy, but I'm sure a little tolerance for his innocent gaffe would have gone a long way as well. I really don't think he was trying to offend anyone.

I'm more unnerved by the possibility that new people will avoid posting for fear of inadvertently stepping in the poo-poo, than I am about the occasional well-intended-but-badly-stated opinion!

Everyone raves about the sleeping beauty series and I have never read them. In fact, Exit to Eden was the very first of this type of genre I had ever read. I enjoyed it, thought there could of been more BDSM play towards the end, but it definately hooks you from the get go.

The chemistry is nice and her interest from the moment she looks at the file is a bit of a long shot but believable. Her trying to exempt him from punishment on the isle adds a bit of  a guardianship feeling. The part where she visits him chained downstairs and gives him wine is also very sensual and, of course, the most memorable parts are his expierences in her room. lol....

Read it....you'll enjoy it if you enjoy Femdom stories.....which is what about 90% of Exit to Eden is.

i am very very very sorry about what i wrote about female subs.  i did not mean how it reads..   am a male sub i just felt that Women are the Dominate ones.  i do realize that there are female subs too.  SORRY to ALL and thank you for the suggestions.  Even the one to read the series.

Does anyone know of a story/book that is like the Anne Rice "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" but is about a male serviceenslavement to a Woman? It upsets me to reading a story about Female slaves. Stories should never contain words of "enslavement to men". Thank you.

It upsets me to read narrowminded posts from guys who forget they live in a glass house themselves.

Nah, it's kind of cute. He is just saying how he feels. He doesn't like to read about female enslavement. I don't like to read about football. We know what we like and don't like. We express our views. That is a message board, and that's life.

Smythe

I agree that he is merely stating his preference when he says that he's uncomfortable with reading about female submissive. However, he makes a concrete statement about what should and shouldn't be stated in books. Books have been burned by people who make concrete statements.

THAT was my point.  It's problematic when we begin to judge what should and should not be "proper" within the context of the BDSM culture.

He should read them because his brain will explode by Beauty being tortured?  Oy!

Be unnerved by what I had to say -- I'm sorry, but I call it as I see it.  Perhaps it was his mistake to use a terminal qualifier such as "should never"...but here's my feedback on it:

Having experienced many, many slavish-type gents who say these things, I've found that generally, it's said because they have (or want, or think they need to have) a Female Supremacy mindset.

It could also be that he's unaware or doesn't wish to accept that women with submissive desires have every right to exist in the world as he does. Or heck, he might just not care and deliberately planted that ticking bomb there for someone to call it out.

Many folks come into this "realm" without thinking that it affects anyone but "self". It's responsible to remind individuals who propagate such limiting messages that others do exist in this community and their statements only serve to harm WIITWD.

lunamor -> RE: Anne Rice (10/3/2006 2:43:59 PM)

Yeah, well... that's one way to look at it, MisPandora.

Still, it seems to me that sometimes the general tenor here is less about giving people the benefit of a doubt as to their intentions, and more about rushing to put folks in their place.

To quote EbonyFtshGoddess from another thread, "with that being said, i still believe this forum has a lot of saving graces."

Flame Prevention aka CYA: just to be sure no one misunderstands, my comments are not directed at any particular individual, but at a general phenomenon. If the problem was only individual I wouldn't feel obliged to make the comment at all.

I found a copy of Exit to Eden at a flea market among thousands of other books. When I read a few pages I knew I had to get it. That was years ago. I still have it and have probably read it more than any other book I have.

Sometimes with the vibrator as company.... [sm=banana.gif]

I am amused by the reference to a vibrator accompanied by a dancing banana ;-)

Cheers,
