One thing Americans don't know is the lengths American corporations will go to to make a profit - this is just one area, when it comes to energy and minerals it get's even worse. Naturally, one would expect to encounter some degree of resentment over this, and this resentment is then exploited in the ignorant by religious demogagues, who teach them violent instead of democratic solutions - becase they have no interest in weakening their personal power. But, of course, mentioning this routine, corporate psychopathic indifference is fobbed off as "America hating" by the corporate shills, Limbaugh, etc. who go on to list how convenient it makes your life - a religion of rapacity. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/focus/story/0,6903,389559,00.html http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/315/7122/1557 http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/313/7048/60?maxtoshow=&HITS=10&hits=10&RESULTFORMAT=&searchid=1&FIRSTINDEX=0&minscore=5000&resourcetype=HWCIT http://www.choike.org/nuevo_eng/informes/1157.html Not only weak, but predictable - we'll do anything for money. I always thought it was considered adult behavior to take responsiblity for your actions: apparently though, it depends on whether you stand to lose money or not. It really irritates me that both sides are being played, on the one side, to protect corporate profits, and on the other to maintain domination. They both feed off of, and promote ignorance. Key phrase to listen for in republican speech: "the public has a short memory" - they have a low opinion of their constituents, it's sad to see them proved right.
