I know that TES has an Equestrian Interest group that meets regularly and most ikely the best resources for you being in NJ would be fund there.

I would check out Water Hole Custom Leather.  Mike has been into the pony genre for quite a while and he makes some decent leathergoods.

*nodding* Absolutely.  Mike aka Buck is the one to find on the east coast.  I think he still vends from time to time at the Fetish Fair Flea in Boston.  He's also a close enough drive from NJ.

I havent really found a full outfit for under $600-$800 thats including the shoes.  It depends of course on what kind of pony outfit you are looking for. Some of the hevier harnesses for cart pulling can be found for fairly cheap but if you are into the show pony look then that can really set you back.  If you start out with a tail and a bit gag / harness (that allows you to attach the pony to a lunge line) then you will have all the basics you need. There is no real set pony outfit other than perhaps the head dress and bit ... everything else you pretty much have to put together yourself. You have to have a really clear image of how you want your pony to look and then work towords it over a period of time usually as a reward system.  If you are just getting into pony play then I suggest you start out small because you can take pony play a long ways especially when it comes to gear.  The outfit I have been putting together this year is about $1700 but thats because the boots are so expensive.

It will change from 'vanilla' to other things as your post count increases.
