illuminati1 -> Kneeling and things (10/4/2006 3:21:34 PM)

I am at a lost here. I have a submissive and I am a submissive. Hence I am a switch. Now, I know a good deal about this lifestyle most of it from reading and reasearching some of it I have experianced as both a sub and a Domme. But one thing that I am unable to find on the web is the kneeling postions.

Now my Dom does not have me kneel. (Or rather he hasn't had me kneel yet.) He says he doesn't believe in it due to the fact that it's too Gorean and he doesn't follow that aspect of the lifestyle. But I personally, as a Domme, like the idea of kneeling. To me it shows respect from the submissive to the Dom/Domme. In my opinion (mind you it's only an opinion) it also shows their submissiveness. I know of one kneeling postion. That on your knees, your legs spread open, ass on your heels, hands palm down on your theis and head bowed with your eyes lowered to the floor.

Now with al that being said and that being the only potion I know I would like to reach out and ask for a little bit of help. I know there are much more kneeling potions that just that one and I would like to know what they are and see pictures of them. (Seeing pictures helps me get a better idea of it then just words. I learn much better when I can see something done then just read it)

I would like to know if anyone here can tell me the other positions and possible lead me in the right direction on getting pictures of them.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I find it hard to believe that you went to google.com, typed in "slave kneeling positions" and didn't get tons of information to sort through, or pictures on the "images" search engine.

But really, there's nothing standardized, spend an afternoon putting him in different positions and see which ones appeal to you.

I'm not sure why your dom feels that kneeling had anything to do with Gor.  Supplicants of all manner knelt before their masters for centuries before John Norman belched his fantasy planet upon the world.  There are certain stylized kneeling positions that are particular to Gor, similar to the one you describe above, and if you google 'gorean positions' you'll find several websites that have either drawings or photos of people in those positions.

Do you ever imagine yourself kneeling before your Dom (even though he doesn't like it, does your head go there?).  If so, incorporate some of those things with your sub.  It doesn't have to be intricate, and it doesn't matter if it seems Gor.  As long as you enjoy it and he can learn it, it's good.

mstrjx -> RE: Kneeling and things (10/4/2006 5:35:06 PM)

I would like to point out something that I teach.

I'm mostly fine with the position as you described it, up to the point of the head being bowed.  The eyes lowered is quite nice.

A downward cast to the eyes, as I said before is lovely and submissive, but I personally believe that the head should be kept facing straight ahead.  This illustrates pride.

Now the pride is not as in being 'too prideful'; rather in this case proud of what (the person doing the kneeling) 'is'.  A proud submissive, a proud slave.

Domination is not about competition, nor is submission.  Yet there usually is, in the company of others, an unspoken visual inventory taken when there is a group of dominants and submissives in the room.

I teach that if someone really wants to learn their craft, that they try and be the very best that they can be.  And how better to illustrate that, than to be prideful in your status?

Just my take on things.

Jeff

Dear illuminati1, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I'll be glad to share what I have in the way of positions.  Not all are kneeling and I will add a part where kneeling positions as they are applied to silent salutes.

Extract from "Silent Service Presentation";

...
The bow is also considered a salute. This may be found mostly in the imperial branches of manners, protocol, etiquette, custom or ritual. However, in Japan the bow from the waist, placing both hands palms against the thighs. In Japanese this is called rei. In Korea, the bow from the waist is followed by hands pressed together with fingers pointed to the parallel. This type of bow is called panbae. The bow and curtsey will be covered in the imperial section, as it applies to the nobility and royal class.

An obeisance is not only a gesture of respect, it is also submission. Although the roots of obeisance dates back to fifth century, before Christ, it was later adopted by Alexander the Great, after the defeat of Persia (Iran). Introducing this Persian etiquette to his court, visitors depending on rank had to kneel before the king, kneel and bend from the waist to kiss the king, prostrate themselves before the king or bow to the king.

More elaborate obeisance are used in more formal occasions. The Mandarin bow, the Putonghua which translates to “bump on the head,” is another gesture of deep respect, as to bow so low one touches their forehead to the ground. The English define this same gesture as kowtow. By kneeling, then sitting on the heels, with the hands placed upon the thighs. With a slight pause, the person places their hands upon the floor before their knees and the body inclines to the horizontal. By the individual’s placement of their head, is the degree of respect shown. In most instances, in religious ceremonies the head is place on the floor, showing the deepest respect. Yet, it is normal in martial arts that the neck remains straight and does not touch the floor.

The genuflect , which is kneeling with one bent knee is often practiced in religious ceremonies, such as the Roman Catholics, Orthodox and Anglican churches.
End of extract.
Resume of extract section;
For those who may wish to follow the European Gay Leather standard positions, may I suggest that, there are five (5) standard positions. Inspection, as described as before, “Attention,” which is much like a military attention, with feet at a thirty degree angle, hands flat against the thigh, legs together, head up, eyes forward, straight and proud. “At Ease,” is much like the United State’s military at ease command, “Offer,” which is kneeling with thighs wide apart, forehead to the ground, forming a triangle, with the point of knees, forehead on the floor, with the now free hands, part buttocks cheeks exposing the anus and your genitals, raising the buttocks up as high as possible. “Loo” is a position, of a kneel, with thighs parted wide, sitting on your heels, then opening wide your mouth, the hands should be clasped at the neck. “Wank,” is another European Gay position as well, with a command. Kneeling, with hips cocked up, with eyes up, head up, taking the left hand and reach behind, inserting a forefinger into the anus, then with the right, masturbate, don‘t close your eyes, enjoy yourself too much. With “offer,” “loo” and “wank,” these positions are a “must be naked” situation. Slaves and submissive types should not move within the three-foot zone without approval of the dominant. Stay still. Stay quiet. Be patient. A keen dominant will notice you in due time. Then with a gesture, a nod or a wave of the hand to approach will be given, perhaps a short command such as “approach,” or “come.” Once inside that, dominant’s personal space the attention should be entirely on that dominant. Do not let any other dominant distract or reply to another dominant. Once given the command to enter the dominant’s personal space, keeping lower then the dominant is polite and etiquette correct, thus knee walking is preferred and appreciated. Once near the dominant’s feet, then reset into the same kneeling or standing position that was offered further out or outside the dominant’s personal space. [Note: Positions and commands in a more heterosexual setting may be different, thus placing it at the back page of this presentation handout]
End of extraction--now going to the noted Positions & commands;
Beginning of extract;
Display

When the slave or submissive hears this command of "display," he or she will display the body in a pre-determined style as listed below selected by the Master or Mistress.

Since there are several selections of "Display," the slave and submissive will be familiar with all of them and within physical ability to take those positions.

The Display Positions are as follows:
                       English Classical Display:
Kneeling with thighs parted wide, arms raised and hands interlocked behind the neck, buttocks resting on the heels, back is straight, head up and eyes down in respect. The breasts or chest will be displayed openly for view and inspection, with the womanhood or manhood clearly exposed and open as well.

Modern Classical Display:

Standing with legs spread apart shoulder width, arms raised and fingers laced behind the neck, with eyes down in respect, back and shoulders straight and elbows back as to expose the breasts or chest.

Informal Display:

Standing with legs apart shoulder width, with hands placed into the small of the back and crossed, head up and eyes forward, back straight and shoulders back and square, much like the military's
"Parade Rest."
 Formal Presentment Position

The slave or submissive upon entry in a formal manner, enters naked with the exception of his or her collar, wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs.
There are various styles of "Formal Presentment Position," in which the slave or submissive will be familiar with all of them to be able to immediately go into the designated or ordered position.
The positions of "Formal Presentment Position" are listed as follows:
                     English Classical Formal Position:
On knees, the thighs parted as wide as possible to display genitals, the breasts naked will be shown with a straight and arched back, shoulders back, hands on the thighs palms upwards, buttocks resting on the heels and the head up and eyes down.
The "order" of presentment of their body is as follows:
1. Breasts-Chest, 2. Vagina-Penis and Scrotum, 3. Anus and
4. Mouth. The "order" will not change.

Modern Classical Formal Presentment:
Kneeling with thighs open, displaying the sex with a back that is straight, the chest lifted and slightly arched, with hands on the thighs palms down, with buttocks resting on the heels, the head down and looking down in respect.

The body will be presented in the following "order" without change in "order." They are as follows:
1. Breasts-Chest, 2. Vagina-Penis and Scrotum, 3. Anus and
4. Mouth.

Full Present
Upon entering the room, the slave kneels and staying on his/her knee caps, thighs spread shoulder width, places their arms behind them, clasping the forearms or wrists, placing the wrists to the small of their back, chest upwards, head bowing slightly down and eyes down. This is more an American style of position, similar to the English Formal presentment and English Formal display positions, which has head up.

Honor

In this position, the slave kneels onto their right knee only, the left forward and bent at the knee, foot flat upon the floor. Placing the wrists to the small of the back, hands clasping the wrists as if “keeping a grip or bondage” upon the wrist and if physically able may be hands gripped upon the forearm. The back is to be straight, chest presented forward and shoulders rolled back.  This is a altered “knighting” position or genuflect.

Kneel - Closed

In this position, the slave or submissive kneels, closing their thighs, which is a sign of closure or restriction. At times the slave or submissive is owned by another and closes such view from other Masters and Mistresses. At times though, especially with female slaves and submissive types, they are closed at certain times of the month. By closing their thighs, the remain submissive yet, give notice to the dominant that the genitals are closed.

Of course the owner’s wishes are obeyed without question. However, if served by such a slave or submissive who is not the owner, the guest Master or Mistress should not venture into the genital area, nor challenge the slave or submissive type’s position.

Kneel - Down

In this commanded position, the slave or submissive will kneel to the floor and rest their buttocks upon the heels. With the heels touching the bottom, the slave or submissive will then slide thighs apart widely, as to expose their genitals for the pleasure of the Master or Mistress. The back should be straight, head up and chin up. Placement of the hands may be upon the thighs or crossed at the small of the back. If the slave should place the hands down upon the thighs, it should mean that they are not open for sexual service. Upturned hands, should mean open for sexual service.

Kneel - Up
When hearing this command, the slave or submissive may already be in a kneeling position. The command for “kneel up” is to kneel with thighs parted, to which the buttocks is not in contact with the heels at all. Raising themselves onto the knees, allows the slave to raise up so the Mistress or Master not to lean uncomfortably down or strain awkwardly in handling a kneeling slave. Since the slave kneels as if standing on their knees, the hands are then either placed at the small of their back for binding or cuffing or, may be placed into the nape of their neck, fingers laced.

Obedience

This is a classic position in which the slave or submissive will take the position of "Obedience." The position is immediately taken upon the command of their Owner or the Master or Mistress to whom has collared the slave or submissive.

The slave or submissive, on their own may take this position to demonstrate their obedience to that Master or Mistress.
Unless permission is granted by the Owner or the collaring Master or Mistress, no other Master, Mistress, Dominant or persons shall ask the slave or submissive to take this position.  However, should the interested Dominant request from the Owner or collaring Master or Mistress, and there is no misunderstanding to the "demonstration" of the position and not the loyalty or obedience to the Owner
or collaring Master or Mistress, the slave or submissive may be allowed to "demonstrate" such position.

The positions of "Obedience" are described as follows:

English-European Obedience Position:
The slave or submissive will kneel, with hands behind their back, then lean over and face against the bare floor or at the feet of the Dominant.

Modern Obedience Position:

The slave or submissive kneels, with elbows to the floor, the arms on the floor forming a pyramid coming to a point with the hands, the thumbs forming a base of a pyramid, the eyes down, with body much like a fetal position.
Punishment Position
There are several punishment positions in which the Dominant will direct the slave or submissive to use or take.
This can be on the various bondage furniture or restraints or in the positions like that of the "Whip Position," which is on the floor, kneeling with the elbows on the floor with their head on the floor, in which the idea is to expose their body to the whip for punishment.
The slave or submissive hearing this will have no misunderstanding that there was some displeasing behavior that needs immediate attention. This punishment is also not to be one of pleasure.
Punishment is to create the desire for the slave or submissive to amend their behavior and not wish to repeat the conduct or misbehavior.
Punishment can range from "ignore" to "heavy caning." Each punishment is different for each slave or submissive.

Whip Position

This command can be used for punishment, discipline or pleasure and it is the Dominant's responsibility to make sure the slave or submissive knows that such is either for punishment or pleasure.

The slave or submissive will take this position, especially when there is no restraints or bondage equipment are available.

The position of the slave or submissive when hearing the command of "Whip Position" is as follows:

The slave or submissive will go onto their knees and lower themselves to the elbows, the head to the floor and fold their arms under their breasts or chest with the buttocks up in the air.  The hands will never be placed behind their back.
End of the extraction -Note, other positions and commands are in the presentation--just addressing kneeling ones.

Hope this may be of help.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs
