BenignPlague -> Use of Actively Seeking (10/5/2006 12:40:53 PM)

Hello all, and thank for reading.

In browsing around the other half, reading profiles and journals and things, I frequently see people refer to themselves and taken, or owned, or not looking, etc.  and constantly referencing an influx of ignorant messages and so forth.  However, I find these profiles by browsing "submissive women looking for dominant men" etc.  If all people want is friends, why don't they simply check off "friends only"?  To me, actively seeking means two things 1) you are not currently owned, or, you are, and the two of you are seeking, or 2) that is the orientation that appeals to you.

What does "actively seeking" mean to all of you?

I would think; Open to possibilities.

Many people make their profiles when they first log on to CM and then never change them again.. I guess we live in an imperfect world with imperfect people...

What does it mean to me? I am only seeking friends, and if I was seeking more I would check that off. Many people do not bother to read what I am looking for anyways and write me anyhow...

Forget what people are 'seeking'... it's like going to a nightclub, no-one has a sign around their neck stating they are taken, looking, or what they are looking for... And yes lets ignore the hanky code thing for now, even though I agree with what some Doctor in psychology/human studies once said, "straights would be less uptight and frustrated if they adopted the hanky code"..

Just aproach everyone as a potential friend, not a potential (sex)mate...
Mostly people do not know what they are actively seeking until it stares them in the face...

What actively seeking in regards to CM means to me.. well I selected that I actively seek friends... But really I'm not.. If a 'friend' crosses my path then great... I'd be overjoyed, but i am not looking under every rock to find one...

Iskander..

...  but Celeste; that would only work if people bothered to READ what people write, anyway!    LOL    Many just don't.   Hey, it's online; there's always a bunch of weeding to do!
