Firstly, no judge before whom i have ever appeared acted anything like Judge Judy does on her tv show.  i'm sure many P/pl find her abrasive or don't get home from work in time to watch her, but i just adore the woman.

Why?  Because she says the things i would love to say to P/pl who have stupid/prejudiced/ridiculous/etc. ideas.  i am especially happy when she tells P/pl in their 20's that having 6 or 7 kids before marriage was STUPID.  Lmao.

I like Judge Judy too she tells it like she see's it. I sometimes wish she'd run for President

I feel the same way about Judge Marilyn Milian on People's Court

I like the old judge on Divorce Court, she was harsh yet fair. She would tell off the women just as easily as the men....She gave hell once to a woman who lied and told her husband that he was the father of her 3 kids......she almost got off the bench lol

I like both these Judges as well, they are both straight shooters and use good ol' American common sense.

Are you talking about "Mablean Ephriam"?

We used to enjoy watching her as well, I hear there's a new judge on there now, haven't had a chance to watch her in action though.

i never could understand the concept behind "Divorce Court".  A divorce cannot be granted by an arbitrator in any state, as far as i know.  The issues of adultery, etc., have become obsolete as most/all states have adopted "no fault" divorce laws.  No one ever seems to be suing for child custody.  The Judge grants child support and spousal support without any apparent evidence of the parties' earnings.  It just seems like a place for the parties to vent....kinda the "Jerry Springer" of court tv shows.

All the judges I know have the capacity to go full-tilt, but most rarely do, although there is one who was jokingly voted "Most Likely to Throw the Gavel"...
