Do you ever get a moment, right in the middle of a really intense and amazing scene, when you suddenly can't believe it's all real?  I get these odd moments when it's just too unbelievable that me, boring and ordinary as I am, could be in this wonderful situation.

Deep down I'm still not sure all this is real, it's the sort of thing that happens to far more exciting people.

Yes, yes and more yes!  Only its usually more than a moment and can go on for days, even weeks, after the scene that set this feeling in motion.  Sometimes, things never feel real, but are always a part of some kind of "movie reality."

LOL Em

Never happened in a scene for me.... but it randomly happens in life.  Generally i cant believe i am "here" and not where i am "supposed" to be.  Its like all of a sudden, i step back and i am not apart of it, but looking at it and i am surveying how the fuck i got from A to B.  Like um, how the hell did i end up in florida???

Or sometimes i stand back and look around me and i survey the people that i care about, the fun we are having.. and i just look around at it all.. and i tell myself that i best enjoy myself while i can because it wont last.  The people will be gone, "this" life will be gone and before i know it, i'll be somewhere else.

But then i move alot so its prolly quite normal.

Greetings all Believers and UnBelievers....

Yeah...

watching the sun rise after a really great party
seeing a beaming smile on a baby
getting another check from a business sold years ago
talking on the phone with my mother, and she says "i love you"
overhearing your daughter tell her friend her dad is weird, but really cool when ya get to know him
IM chat that makes you laugh right out loud with verbal wit-play
Paypal pops in your inbox and you sold another ebook to a stranger in AZ
seeing a hawk soar, circle, and plunge to bring instant death to a mouse
getting a kind/sweet birthday card from your ex-wife, who hates you...
waking to the gentle breathing of a lover
hitting a topspin serve that handcuffs your opponent
writing an ad that makes the phones ring off the hooks
watching your Dad's last cancerous breath as he leaves this world

Jeeez, woman, isn't it all pretty much a miracle?

DD, an immature, miraculous, naive old goat

I've had remarkable scenes like that, yes.  But then, if I think back on each day, I have them as well at odd moments.

Pretty cool, huh?

What you're feeling is likely a form of dissociation which can come from having trouble believing something.

 YES!

When I was with someone dear and the scenes were so intense and felt so right...

To be soaring and not afraid. To realize pain and joy can be one.  The look of wonder. His Zen. Power. That the two of you are one - even if for a fleeting amount of earth time. I lose track of time. The passion unlimited. Time ceases to exist.

Even the next day... I'd think "nah" a feeling of unreality. Literally, though - new experiences, especially out of the main stream  and with hot, sizzling, hot intensity - do take psychological processing - especially for we newer subs.

Glad everyone sounds so lively tonight! YEA!

I love it. I miss it. This girl has learned a lot! Gotta get back on - in- and - out there.
Life is good

with grace, fawne

P.S. I miss him. You know who you are...

I don't have a sig other that I can say puts me there right now but there are just moments of pure bliss.
Usually nature inspired but sometimes little things like playing in the dirt with Tonka trucks with my grown son's two little terrors and teaching the 3yo about fuzzy catepillars that will turn into a butterfly, stuff like that. I look back 20 - 30 years at the way my life was then, damn, who would have thought I would be where I am now.

Traveling does that to me also. Going places I always dreamt about, and then being there, it is surreal.

Maslow wrote extensively on the subject of peak experiences and the psychological aspects of these.  There are many different dissociative aspects to brain function during peak experiences.  The ones I can name off the top of my head are tachypsychia (sense that time is slowing down), auditory exclusion (focussing your hearing on one specific thing to the exclusion of all else), tunnel vision (focussing your vision on one specific thing), and becoming completely lost in a specific sensation you are feeling.

None of these things would qualify in my mind as "trouble," although I suspect most of them tend to be somewhat dissociative (disconnection or disassociation with objective reality) in nature.

I would suspect that you are having peak experiences.  Enjoy the hell out of them.  There is no physiological difference in brain chemistry between fear and excitement.  What determines whether one gets locked into PTSD or panic disorders, or simply enjoying the hell out of things, is the cognitive interpretation of the experience.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

I have moments, conversations and occasional days like that with Angel. They are too few and too far between.
Ive also had my fair share of the "This cant be real, these things dont happen to people outside of movies" moments... people picking fights out of no where and pulling weapons and such.  I far far prefer the ones with Angel.
