A nice idea and I am sure for them there will be human growth from the experience from little to maybe life changing but it really means little in the big picture. Despite our constant complaining on this site, any message board, and in real life of course, one of the truly special things about America is how people from all walks of life have been thrown together and for the most part live and prosper. Do we have bigotry, stereotyping and violence because of our differences, yes, but compared to a lot of the rest of the world it is very minor.

Not understanding another's culture and beliefs is only a small part of the problem. You are talking about hundreds of years of finger pointing, judgement, grudges, past violence and blaming someone for your problems. The problem of hatred of different people has more to do with inward thinking and quality of life then beliefs.
