Geez Louise, Rover. You're off Double Secret Probation for like FIVE MINUTES and you're already stirring up the pot.

Mavis -> RE: Time out (10/11/2006 7:50:26 PM)

i missed the politics..  but might point out that in addressing topics, examples come from all areas,  W/we often do touch on politics, religion, recipes for good cookies or soup...  anything that is focused on furthering the discussion of the topic is intruduced.  if it becomes part of the discussion, it's picked up and run with.  If it's disruptive, it's usually left to die,  the place is largely self-moderating.

On to the topic,  i don't know about a time out persay, But i have a situation where sometimes my company is contracting Master.   W/we have to make a conscious decision to change hats during business discussions.  It's not always easy.  It sometimes has repercussions in that i react to shadows..  a tone of voice used in business talks might reverberate with either me or Him.

There are times i have to address an actual "fault" in Him, for the sake of a project, ask Him to tone down this attribute, or buff up that one,  and it's an interesting exercise in self control.  Can Y/you imagine how hard it is to not just run with that power once i have it?  LOL.  "weeeeee!"

Do you think it would be easy to go back into dom/me sub / slave relationship after?

To answer the re-adjustment question, yes, that was hard... It took quite a while for U/us to realise the need to clearly demarcate the role switch by hanging up  or parting company even if only by one room for 30 mins, and continuing our M/s interactions as a wholly separate convo, or there was bleed-over.

Then you won't mind if I object to you incessantly bringing politics here to these lifestyle oriented boards.  :)

Glad we solved that.

John

You may object as much as you like.

My question is could you handle it?
If offered to you or asked of you would you like to take a 'time out' for a period of time?
Do you think it would be possible to maintain a 'time out'?
Do you think it would be easy to go back into dom/me sub / slave relationship after?
I'm really curious about this so please feel free to add any comments about stuff i've missed.
Thanks.

Taking a *time out* really isn't possible for me. Not because I have a character trait that means I AM a *slave* but because that's just how we've always related. It would be a bit like *not relating* to my Mum AS my Mum, or something, or  *not relating* to my sprogs AS my sprogs. They are what they are to me and we relate as we relate.

I can speak  or behave exactly as I choose in all these scenarios but there's a subconcious yardstick that governs them all.

It's a work of fiction ffs.

fiction often reflects fact and vice versa.

So what you are saying is the factual experience of the world and the US with Monkeyboy at the helm is a reflection of an existential nightmare fiction work about the chimpanzees taking over the zoo and attacking the zebras who they suspect of having WMDs?

Where is my thorazine drip when I need it.

Sinergy

Ok, if i had a dolly blue what you were referring to then i may be able to answer your question. As it stands i will answer that no i did not say that i said fiction often reflects fact and vice versa. I did not say fact is fiction or fiction is fact i said sometimes you find reflections of them in each other.

I do feel that your comments were ur attempt to make me look stupid and maybe you have succeeded, however if your comments are referring to American politics then i can safely say i take no interest what so ever in them so there fore my lack of knowledge in this area is through choice.

Whilst i will not tell you what and where you can post things, i will say i fail to see the purpose of your comment. Maybe you could explain this to little old me.

Feeling a bit left behind, Sinergy?  You replied to this very same post yesterday, in post #43.  We've moved on... considerably.
