Tonight I had someone that seemed to believe they were petitioning to be my sub, tell me that I'm not "real" because I don't force my boys with strap on's, like them to do housework and won't put up with an obviously un-medicated individual being rude and dis-respectful. Who woulda thought my kink could be different from someone elses...shock & horror!! I must not be "weal enough" GAG if I have to be a "weal & twue domme" to play I'm taking my whips and going home.
Real is what you make it. If it works in your relationship it's real. It might not work for others but it's real for you.
