See, now I just figured this was just all the presidents grand plan to help protect us from the terrorists. If you recall in the "address to a joint session of Congress and the American people" back in sept 2001, he stated, They hate our freedoms -- our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to vote and assemble and disagree with each other First we had the Patriot Act, then the illegal wiretaps and now the passage of the Military Commissions Act. Personally I have felt that it is about time that something like the Military Commissions Act has been passed; how can we possibly expect to live by rules set down back in 1215 by people who weren't even Americans; magma carta, magna smarta. Lets face it, the only way to protect us is to be rid of those freedoms that are causing the terrorists to attack us. But we can't do it all at once, too many people would protest; baby steps people. Today it's the Military Commissions Act, tomorrow it will be "We the citizens of the United States, in Order to form...." If you are a loyal god fearing citizen, and have your national ID card to prove it (because as a good citizen you should be proud to display it, anytime anyone asks), then you should hold your head up high, and trust that our beloved leader knows what is best for all of us, without questions. For this protection, isn't it the least we can do to make his job as easy as possible? Now many would question how we could help him out. What can we do? Well some of us were listening, and we heard when in 2000 he said, A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it. No matter what you can say about this president, he really has done a lot to achieve that end goal, and he couldn't have done it without those people who represent all of us, since it is their job to voice how all of us feel, but there is still a lot more work to do. It's a long road, and we have to stay the course. The only way to stay the course however is by reassuring those responsible for allowing this success to take place by dutifully casting our vote in a few weeks to keep them in office. I know how I am voting. :)
