i am a sub/slave and was wondering whether most doms like doing it face to face like, or doing some stuff over the internet and msn then moving towards fae to face?

The Net is a great place to find like-minded people, esp those whose gifts and needs compliment my own. And if, like me, you live where there's no real organised community, then the Net and MSN etc are viable alternatives - but you rarely get an accurate reading on mutual chemistry etc so it is somewhat of a lottery.

But when it comes to the acts of domination/submission in all their guises (not just physical kink), I need "face to face"! Though I don't understand exactly what "online only" people actually get out of cyber domming/submitting, I accept many do get something from it anyway. Me, I'd just get exasperated at not being at arm's length with my eyes locked onto hers when I do task her to do something - *properly*!

So I vote for "face to face".

I don't mind initial talks on the Internet but face to face is the way to go.

The 'net is definitely a means to an end, being r/t. But I believe it to be an important means.

The net is just a tool to find that person that makes everything just seem right, after that it should be moved to R/T as soon as possible.

Face to face is what We look for. Sooner rather than later. The net is just a stepping stone to meet and greet.

For me, the internet is simply a communication tool, just like the phone. I don't like phone Ds and I don't like cyber Ds...nothing replaces the look in someone's eyes when you look deeply...nothing replaces the feel of their skin...the smell of their body...and so on. The internet might be a place to start, but for me, I need real time at least on occassion to seal the relationship.

Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:
Girl claims extensive experience as a slave and canes as a personal favorite. A few minutes into the scene she's already in tears. The dominant keeps checking in and she insists she's ok. He pulls out the cane and whack. She jumps up screaming OUCH IT NEVER HURT LIKE THAT ONLINE!!!

There is no substitute for real "energy exchange." The 'net is full of facades and illusions. If you wish to create an illusion for your entertainment and jollies, then it has a purpose. Again I say: "There is no substitute for real energy exchange."
