Hello, I'm new to this discussion board. I have been searching BDSM groups across the internet to find out what they think about a BDSM related business venture I am curious to open in NYC. If you have heard of the Other World Kingdom you will be familiar with the general concept...but this will not be an elaborate femme ruled world with judges and courts etc. I wish to simply set up a prison hotel...a place with individual cells that partners [male/female...male/male...female/female...you get the point...partners is any combination! :) ] can use...it's not going to be legal [even in NYC] for us to hire guards and guardesses that do the torture and tying for you, so I want to provide a playspace...but beyond the normal BDSM club that is going to be open late at night, this club would be open 24/7 and the cells would actually lock, meaning that you could "arrest" your sub and place them in shackles in one of our cells...the details I haven.t yet figured out and that is why I come here...things like Minimum, Maximum times spent in jail...restraints, what should be allowed, what is too far...prices...This is why I turn to you, I want to know with such a place what your fantasies would be for it and then I [and my design team] will take all those thoughts to heart and go about to build the best damn bondage club NYC has ever seen. Better keep your insurance premiums payed up really well because you are soo opening yourself up to a kidnapping and false imprisonment lawsuit as a business catering to these kinds of fantasies..all it will take is one disgruntled submissive who didnt have a great scene... Otherwise it sounds GREAT!

The legal issue is something I.m going to work out with my lawyers after I get the general concepts rolling...I.m going to present a lot of ideas and see which ones can fly and which ones I have to get rid of. Hopefully the prison angle will be something we can work out, because I think a lot of people really crave it...but again, that.s what I.m on here for...to see what people really would want.

In addition to the insurance, you'd be smart to invest in a copy of the NY Crimes Codes and statutes. Several of the things you're proposing as the basis for your fixed establishment are illegal. Hell, even the display or possession of handcuffs in NY State by anyone other than sworn law enforcement officers is illegal LOL It might be a liberal city.....but the letter of the law in the state is not.

I hope you can make it work. It sounds like great fun and I know it's something that I would love to do if given the opportunity. The closest I've been able to come is as a visitor to Alcatraz and watching Himself play The Suffering. :) Celeste

That sounds like a whole lot of fun. since others have covered the legal issues, i will do fantacy. Bear would have my head covered when we walk in so that i wouldnt be able to see. i would have my collar and my heavy chain hooked to that. he would shove me into my cell and torture me. i would be chianed by my collar from the top part of the cell and my wrists chained to that. he would whip me, burn me, and tell me what a dirty little bitch i am. he then would partialy remove my hood so that my mouth was available and he would then use my mouth for whatever pleasured him. oh the nasty thoughts running through mt head right now...mmm! well thats the jist of it with out being expliset. i could definately write more with details but this one is not sure if she should speak in that manor on cm. so i'll leave it at that but, this definatly has my wheels turning. maybe i shall write the whole thing and put it in Bears suggestion box. ~midnyt~

Wow that sounds like it would be a great "vacation" attraction for D/s and M/s couples.The possibilities of fantasies are endless (one that spang to mind was being arrested for prostitution and having to go to the jail) i'd imagine that the length of time would all depend on how much the couple wanted to spend on a per night basis (since you describe it as a motel thing it could be from a couple of hours to any length of time that was desired and/or affordable). As far as safety in that regard, i'd imagine that a rule (written other than just the fact that it's logical) would have to be put into place as far as not leaving a bound slave/sub restrained and alone (that wouldn't mean that there couldn't be a lounge area for the D or M to go relax as long as they were close enough to go and check on the "s") Seems to me that if you did it as a private "club"(still a 24/7 motel but mebership only). you could get away with alot more. Also written disclaimers and lists of rules would be needed to cover the asses of both parties (yours and the couple's) Please keep the board posted as things unfold.[:)]

I think I would disallow Torture and burning :) Those are really going to get you into trouble with the feds.

Sounds like a fantasy, not a business plan. Especially in NYC. There are four public dungeons in San Francisco with barred jail cells. People play in them, but don't stay there long.

Were you asking about pricing? My take is that most small businesses charge waaay too little, and then suffer when cash flow is a trickle, and then are constrained in the service/experience they offer... Charge outrageous prices! Then, ... provide a once-in-a-lifetime fantastic experience. Some low-income folks will save for a year or two to visit... And higher-income folks will appreciate you all the more, .... there IS money around... even with filthy perverts, ya know.... DD, a filthy, perverted old goat with champaigne tastes.... PS.... you WILL be all lawyered-up... right? PSS.... about those shoe-strings in my second sentence, they do tend to cut off circulation in more than one sense of those words.... you are really better off using nice silk neckties, designer labels optional.....
