Does anyone know of any good info on using accupressure points in BDSM? I know there are several people that give demos on this (one in my area) but I'm interested and want to read up on it on my own...

Thanks for any help.

Pan

Hello Pan,

When learning aboout pressure points, it is always best to have someone there to offer guidance, until you have a firm grasp on what you are doing. As when learning any new technique.

In training in Martial Arts, I learned in depth regarding pressure points and their affects. On the sensual end, you may want to review a book entitled The Book of Shiatsu by Paul Lundberg. And of course you can always 'google'.

I too would like to know more about pressure points and will be following this thread.

Fact or Fiction, I also understand there are pressure points where knots in rope can be placed for added pleasure (unlike just the obvious places..wink) For example, somewhere near the shoulder blade?

Respectfully,

My Master has been using pressure points on me for years. I have them all over my body, behind my wrists, insides of my thighs, a couple of spots on my back, on my feet, under my breasts... just all over!

He learned to channel his chi during his martial arts training so I don't know if you can read up on it.

If you would like to contact him, you can drop him a note under my ID and I will be sure he gets it.

We spent the weekend at a convention and one of the classes was "pressure points in rope bondage." Really informative, and they suggested buying a book on accupressure for lovers. Another really great tip if you get into this is instead of using knots, use macrame (sp?) beads to press on the pressure points (these can be easily threaded onto 1/4 inch rope). The presenter also had this really interesting tool called the "pocket plus" which when run over the body can detect pressure points, as an extra bonus to this tool it gives out an electro stimulation when a certain button it pushed. Normally it's used by accupuncture professionals to find & stimulate pressure points for health benefits but it's an awesome pervetable.[:D] Hope that helps!!

I like biting pressure points the most. Martial arts, massage therapy, and accupucnture material can tell you many things about them and is for the most part all you need to know.

Isadora,

I'm interested in using then for pleasure, but I'd also like to learn the martial arts techniques that you can use to cause pain or incapacitate. Are there any works on this?

Phoenix54, TopCat's a retired Marine, send him a message as I'm sure he'll be willing to point out to you the best pressure points to hit in self defense and possibly a few for pleasure.

You might want to look at this site as well - http://www.jahsonic.com/JapaneseBondage.html
It gives a good overview and quite a few resources. I'm not sure what part of the world you are in Pan but I do know a Nawa Shibari Master or two who might act as a mentor.

There is a book called The Bubishi that has been used by martial artists for many years. It was the first book that I read after starting my study of martial arts and the information has been invaluable. It contains information not only on the history of Chinese martial arts and pressure points, but also of healing acupressure, herbs and injury prevention and treatment.
I highly recommend it, obviously [:D]

I will be the first to admit pressure points are fun when they are done properly but on that same note they can be deadly if done incorrectly so i have to agree with earlier post to have someone who has done them before show you the proper technique.[:D]

I agree. There are also some pressure points that can cause continuous pain until another point is pressed. This can be very intense pain and will continue until the other point is pressed.
