sydneycouple -> have you been denied access to sexsites ? (1/24/2005 3:06:09 AM)

I have been denied access to this site a few times now by this weird program called "webBlocker"
All I get is an all white screen with the message about being denied.
It also denies access to other sex related sites but not non-sex sites.
I got rid of it by doing a "restart"
So just wanted to know if this has been a problem for you and if so if you have any more information on it ?
Thanks

It is possible you have a web block program on your computer. You, or someone else (if your using another pc) may have downloaded it. There are too many webblocker programs to list. Just check in your programs. It will tell you which one you have. There put there to stop access of sites that may be 'unsafe' for numerous reasons. So children can't access.... to stop virus attacks... etc. Some of the web blocker programs also record where you've been on the net (not that you can hide it anyway, if you know where to look on a PC)... its possible you've downloaded one by mistake or it may have come with a new programme you have installed.

Peace

I have had that problem and yes it does sometimes come from webblocker, when I downloaded new yahoo program it came with that and so when it lets me know it has blocked a site I click at the top in the tool bar the icon for the blocker ( it looks like a star burst I think)(am not on my own computer so can't say for sure) but I left click and it lists a variety of options one is show most recent blocked item click on this it will show you it, then I think the next option is for you to list the allowed blocked item and you click on it and the screen puts it in an allowed list then you shoulcn't have problems excessing the site. Perhaps this will help. cheryl

Greetings,

If this is your home PC and you've not set any specific paramaters or programs to block certain sites, etc then it may be possible that you have a spyware program infesting your computer.

1) Try downloading Spybot or Adaware - both programs designed to detect and eliminate spyware. Scan your system and follow the steps to quarantine/eliminate any spyware found.
2) Make sure your antivirus definitions are up to date and do a full system scan.
3) Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any programs not desired. (For Windows PCs)
4) Go to the Tools menu in your browser and edit your approved websites and security settings.

Hope this helps!

Oh PC problems? The title had me thinking a master was denying someone from vistiting certain web sites. Oh well, perhaps someone will bring this topic up sooner or later.

If you can't find anything, close all programs and run HijackThis, then place the log file on a computer forum, they r probably much better that us..
