BDSMBRAD -> Home made (1/24/2005 7:06:50 AM)

HOw much of your toys do you make yourself? I was looking at my collection and noticed I have made several. From a spreader bar to a rope flogger, I have made several things that I am quite proud of, and that I enjoy making.

What is your fave thing you have made and enjoy using?

Hi BDSMBRAD,

I, like you, have made almost all my own toys except certain "insertables." I find it fun and a relase for some creative thoughts.

I've made all my own floggers, spreader bars, cuffs, collars, leads, "stingers," etc. I've found that the local farm supply store is a great source for low cost items. Much less expensive then fetish sties. I bought several size syringes which I converted to "suction devices," disposable needles in sterial packaging, saddle belly straps which are great for bondage, etc. Also, Home Deport and similar home supply stores are a great source of low cost tiems. Also fun thinking of what you can use various items for.

I know there was a thread some time ago about all the items that exist around your home that also can be used. Great source of information and fun as well.

Donn

I already posted this question last week. Make or buy them?

This is a current thread on the same topic:

make or buy them

Almost all of it is home-made. The choice between buying a $30 pair of cuffs and eating an extra $30 worth of groceries requires that I be a bit crafty. Aside from a few hand-me-downs that were given to us by friends and family (is it just me, or is there something slightly wrong with being given a boxfull of bondage gear by your mother, saying "you kids take these, I don't use them any more"?) and the very occasional item purchased as finances dictate, I can honestly say that everything from the spreader bars to the floggers were made by lil ol' me. I'm actually quite proud of the bone-handled flogger - balancing it was a pain. I eventually had to sink a 9" bolt through the head and fill the core with epoxy to give it the right feel. It's beautiful and a very nice warmup toy.
