<----Soon to be 55...to my way of thinking the aging process beats the hell out of the alternative..not ready for the old dirt nap just yet...i have never lied about my age...it would go against my life belief of being honest and honorable...us old gals tend to have old fashioned ways i guess..

Why lie about my age, when they see that nothing works the same anymore they know I am an old fart LOL

If they had to lie about their age, I would wonder what else they would think was appropriate to lie about...sure sign of things to come. Personally, I don't care about someone's age, but I would expect to at least be given valid information. Myself....I'm still upright, healthy and all the original equipment parts work fine...I'd be more inclined to brag about my age...lol.

Anyone who says they never lie tells themself the biggest lie of all.
All adults lie.  I've known lots of people who claim they never lie, and
discovered they tell real whoppers when it suits them.

Some information is personal.  I don't know why strangers think
they have a right to know anything personal about someone
they are not ready to marry.

I used to manage a hotel, and guests would always ask me to
see rooms that were not yet ready to show.   They would tell me
they could imagine what the room would look like when it was
clean.  In ten years of managing that hotel, no potential guest
ever rented a room that had not been cleaned up.

People who say they don't judge people by superficial things
such as age are just full of shit.  What twenty year old is going
to have any romantic image in a seventy-six year old?

Most people say they look younger than their age, when in
fact they look older.  If people constantly mistake someone
for being ten or twenty years younger than they really are,
they are doing a disservice to themselves by telling others
their real age, because no one will believe how young they
really look.

You are not your passport age.  Different people age
differently.  Different body organs age differently.  You
can't use a person's age to determine their emotional
and sexual maturity, their intellctual maturity, or
anything else about them.   Michael J. Fox looks and
acts much younger than he is.

When a stranger asks you how much you weigh, do
you substract anything from your actual weight?

When someone asks you how much money you
make,  do you tell them you are unemployed if
you are between jobs?   Do you tell strangers
your net worth, and exactly how much money
you've made every year of your life?

What is your IQ?   What was your SAT score?

If a stranger asks if you have ever had a
venereal disease do you tell them you have
herpes?

If a stranger asks your penis size, do you add
inches?  What do you say if you are Tiny Tim

If a stranger asks if you suffer from bulimia or
aneroxia are you obligated to tell them?

If your boss is in, and he tells you to tell callers
he is out, do you tell the truth and lose your job?

Police and law enforcement lie all the time.  Some
of it is part of their job and legitimate, and some of
it is unethical.

There is a difference between merely lying and
being dishonest.   The dishonest person attempts
to cheat others.

I've heard people say that you can judge a person
by observing if they ever speed while driving.  If
someone is willing to break the law and drive five
miles over the speed limit, this is a clear indication
they have no respect for the law, and you can never
know what other laws they might guilty of breaking.
They could be a serial killer or an ax murderer.  You
never know.  Anyone who breaks any law is a
criminal, and is therefore capable of doing anything.
Or so their logic goes.

I am a very open person, and have no secrets.
People tell me things they have never told anyone
in their life including any of their past lovers or
partners.  The reason is because I am so open
and so non-judgmental.  But this is with people
I know.  If I have never met person, I don't see
any obligation to tell them every little personal
thing about me.

Telling people your true age is not such a big
deal unless you look so much younger than
you really are that strangers think you are lying
when you tell them your real age.

Best regards,
Michael

KatyLied -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 7:54:18 AM)

I met someone who did not disclose his real age until a few weeks after we met.  Needless to say, it was one of many lies.

SlaveAkasha -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 7:54:34 AM)

I have a friend that was lied to by a sub about her age.  I think the difference was ten years or so, can't fully remember.  That was discovered, then was overlooked.  He then discovered other parts of her personality that were a bit "out there" also.

If someone lies to me about one thing, I never fully trust them again.  It's too easy to lie the second, third, and fourth time...if you get by with it the first.

When a stranger asks you how much you weigh, do
you substract anything from your actual weight?
No, i weigh ten and a half stone.

When someone asks you how much money you
make,  do you tell them you are unemployed if

you are between jobs?
Yes im between jobs right now.

What is your IQ?   What was your SAT score?
147 is my iq (hard to belive i know lol) and i didnt do sats but i have 9 gcses.

If a stranger asks if you have ever had a
venereal
disease do you tell them you have

herpes?
If id had it yes - ive told strangers worse things.

If a stranger asks your penis size, do you add
inches?
What do you say if you are Tiny Tim

I dont have one.

If a stranger asks if you suffer from bulimia or
aneroxia are you obligated to tell them?
Not obligated but anyone who knows me or has read my posts here yes i have an eating disorder.

If your boss is in, and he tells you to tell callers
he is out, do you tell the truth and lose your job?
Id say he was unavailable.

Telling people your true age is not such a big
deal unless you look so much younger than
you really are that strangers think you are lying
when you tell them your real age.
I've been accused of lying about my age because i apparently look younger.

Most people say they look younger than their age, when in
fact they look older.
I think im haggard for my age personally but others think i look younger so explain that one.

Bearlee -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 8:02:44 AM)

When I first discovered BDSM, I shaved about 5 years off my age.  Like so many others here, I neither look, nor feel like my age; and I thought it only fair not to have people 'judge' me by that actual number...when it just so does not represent me, dammit!  LOL

THEN...as I got to know WIIWD, I realized how important brutal honest is; especially considering all that we do.  I can't stand a liar and realized that's exactly what I was doing.  There's just no such thing as a 'little lie' when you're getting to know somebody.

It still galls me though, that I'm 58!  LOL  Dammit...  Most of the guys I date are younger than I am; though I do know a few very active (even hot!) 70-somethings!  I'm gonna be like that when I grow up!!!

<edited to add>  Same goes for pics; it bugs the daylights outta me when ppl put up (or worse, SEND) pictures that are five or more years old!  I believe in truth in advertising!!!  LOL  mine is a few months old...

Yep, that's bad.  When people lie about their age, they need to post an older pic so it all looks reasonable.

MzTlaz -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 8:18:09 AM)

I'm about to turn 48, I never lie about my age or anything else, for that matter.  Lies always have a way of surfacing and only do the liar harm in the long run so what's the point?

I've been accused of lying about my age...people think I'm much younger, lol!  I was very recently accused of lying about my bra size....lol!  A few years ago I was professionally measured, I'd been wearing a 34C bra and I was very surprised to discover I'm actually a 32 DDD ....do you KNOW how hard that size is to find????!!!!

Oh....and I have to change my height....apparently I've shrunk 1/2 an inch...sheesh!

Honesty is the best policy in my book!

I have no problem with my age.  Never have, never will.  I earned it by simply surviving to see it.  It's mine, all mine I tell you ... mine, mine, mine *lol*

Dang, I have just the opposite problem. I have always been 5ft 2 but a recent doctor's appt pegged me at 5ft 3 1/2.....I have no idea what's up with that!!!

Lying about your age...is lying. I don't know why anyone does it. I've earned every single gray hair and wrinkle I have!!!

mnottertail -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 8:24:32 AM)

Look,

I look like I look, I talk like I talk, I think like I think, I am 52 and headed for 53 now.

ALL is vanity, but if your personal vanity outweighs the necessity to communicate information in a straightforward and frank manner, you got no bitches when I fuck the shit out of you and kick your ass to the curb, even when I told you something different.

Rules is rules and are not for the bending of personal vanity here and strict adherence there.  Know what I mean,  Vern?

Secondarily, if it is an issue, and the thought is to tell the truth later after a large investment that forces someone to weigh the matter against that and have to accept it by the dint of the other overwhelming investment and you think you can patch it up............and that everything should be ok and never considered again........

Well, you got problems that ain't gonna resolve with a quart of whiskey. Perhaps those of you that don't see this as fundamental should rename yourselves Two-GunSlave because, I'll be goddamned if I have to accept ultimatums of that sort and that is really the end product of what you aim for.

It's not a lie if it's not  their concern..
I'm not talking age.that is so unimportant..but yet to some people it is everything
But the thread has included more than the standard questions on a profile.
Are we so "automated" that we all believe that we must open our pages to everyone who wants a read?.
Yeah, there are lies of omission..but its not ommission if you tell the one asking that you have determined  its too personal a matter.
Let em guess.

It is important.  It shows you that a person will lie about anything in an effort to misrepresent.

MasterC46910 -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 9:06:14 AM)

I would have a real problem with the dishonesty, but would be willing to listen to a good reason.  If they had one...

I play with my age as well, mostly I will tell people I am much older then I am...LOL

Lordandmaster -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 10:09:31 AM)

I'm 34 and I honestly wouldn't want to be any other age right now.  I don't want to be 35 because that's coming soon enough, and I don't want to be 33 because, well, I already did fucking 33.

BitaTruble -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 10:11:23 AM)

I once went through an entire year thinking I was a year older than I really am. I don't lie about my age, but I do forget it from time to time. ::chuckles::

I did that once, my grandfather had me convinced I was a year older then I was.  Mostly because when he turned 80 I was 40, half his age.  a few year later we got something confused and he convinced me I was 48 when I was really 47.  So I got to be 48 for two years...LOL

TxBlkMistress -> RE: lying about yr age (10/14/2006 10:25:46 AM)

I know first hand about lying about your can lead to other lies.  This guy told me he was 31, well he didn't look 31, but I said who am I to say he's lying.  Well I met him, and it turned out not only that he was about to turn 50 in a week, but he also lied about where he lived, where he was born, and somehow it slipped his mind that he has a young daughter that lives with him.  We had a long....looooong discussion...I told him to clear the air and tell all, and since I had invested so much in the realtionship, we would start with a clean slate.  I thought that was that....stupid me.

We went to dinner, and it slips he has yet another kid with another woman, and some other things I won't mention....the next day when I was leaving he gives me the old, by the way, I quit my job.   He then wanted to know when he and his daughter could move in with me.....LOL

All I'm saying...lying about age might be a little thing, and I see some say if you really like him what difference does it make...the difference isn't the lie about age, the problem is, this could be the tip of the iceburg....and you might not want to see the part of the iceburg that's underwater....LOL
