oy vey, I got quite a few 'geek' collections - all related to actual hobbies/activities I enjoy though, and being the hedonist that I am.... Fly fishing rods - graphite, bamboo or fiberglass. My favorite makers are RL Winston, and Tom Maxwell (RIP) I guess I collect reels too (Hardy, JAF, Ross, etc)... though I don't have half as many as I do rods. I also try to fish 3-6 times a week as well (winter excluded - though once the temp hits 40 I'm good to go) Tobacco smoking pipes (have 150 or so.. most I smoke, a few are just for show, and some are too sentimental to use. My collection is focused on artisan pipemakers whom I personally know). Also tobacco ages like fine wine - so I have enough tobacco to last a lifetime. Cigars - yup they age well too. and Cigar accessories (cutters, humidors etc). Nothing like a fine cigar on the stream :) Single malt scotch - I try to get as many Islays as I can find.... various bottlings etc... too many on the wishlist though. Guns - don't really collect em, and I'm not a gun nut with my own arsenal... errr, well I guess it could be considered an arsenal by some. No bazookas though :) and I only carry one if I carry at all (god forbid I need to use it in self defense I probably won't have time to remember which I'm carrying). The others are for killing paper or personal enjoyment. Masonic items & regalia (mostly historical documents, Temple of Solomon replicas, Jewelry, books and ritual swords). Chinese Yixing teapots Monty Python action figures and to make this post related to our common interest.... I have begun collecting high end floggers/cats... mostly from snake pit leatherworks in Austin (sorry for the plug - but Nancy and Allen are great)... recently added 2 elks, an antelope, a bitey llama (1/8" falls) and a beautiful CITES friendly elephant hide flogger... many more sure to come. OK, so I'm weird...but I'm satisfied :) best, Joshua

I collect figurines called "Harmony Kingdom". I only buy the animal ones; they come apart and there is usually a 'surprise' inside. I am a minimalist when it comes to decorating and 'stuff' and these are the only things I've ever wanted to collect.

Hi, I have to say that my favorite things to collect are horses, most of my collection is from family and friends and my 4 boys. I can look at each one that my boys gave to me, and see their faces when they were young and how excited and expectant they were when they gave them to me. And yes still get something related to horses from them from time to time related to horses, for my birthday last year one of my twins gave me a touch lamp and the shade was made of panes of glase with horses on it . and most of the horses are not alike. Some of them even come from little farm sets the boys grew tired of and wanted momma to have. That is my main collection, I love antiques(sp) also but have little knowledge and little money for them but enjoy veiwing them and old model cars.

I collect tins, books, horse art, music, videos and discarded pets.. unfortunately I have to put a limit on the last collection. Oh yes, and swords... I like swords..

Jeez, ask me an easy one why don't you? It might be better to say what geeky things I don't do, collect, or obsess over. I am livin' la vida dorka over here. I am not only a geek, I am uber-geek. I have supreme esprit d'geek. HACKMASTER, alright? I don't just play D&D, I play HACKMASTER. Registered HMGMA liscense number CA-1-00401-02. Most geeks don't even know that hackmaster is an actual game system. I can actually quote chapter and paragraph. I'd have a higher rating, but I can't be bothered to run any tournament-level games. I argue in favor of jar-jar binks, just so I can keep a discussion on episode one going. I don't like him, I think he's annoying and idiotic, but I'll argue in his favor just to keep the conversation rolling. When I was a child, I learned base sixteen mathematics and algebra by playing Traveller. I also learned that, even in outer space, you can not go adventuring until you visit the nearest tavern and get into a fight with the locals. You wanna know how geeky my life is? My wife is turned on by the fact that I can compare and contrast golden age batman versus bronze age batman and how the dark knight variant is just as much of a departure from the pre-golden age pulp original as the later silver age version most folks are familiar with. That's considered a form of foreplay in my house. My wife once broke her ankle on a tom baker scarf she knit herself. We still have that half-ton mobility hazard lurking in a closet somewhere. To be a geek is one thing. To be a geek that was married out of admiration for his geeky qualities, that is supreme geekdom. I have been known to argue the differences and merits contained within the shared continuity of Robert E Howard and H P Lovecraft. I donate my old computers to a local hermetic square-eyed monk of unix that I know. He's not just a hermit, he practices hermeticism. He has champions conversions of all seventy two goetic lords for use in teaching disciples how to tell them apart. I am not a solitary geek. I am a tribal geek. I attend the local conventions so that I can confer with tribe members that I have not seen in many moons. I also go to party down and try to get laid by other people who are impressed by useless esoteric knowledge. I am a second generation geek. I inherited these qualities from my father, as did my brother. I used to wear a propeller beanie just to try and pick fights. I am not only proud of my heritage, I defend it fiercely. Out of the closet my flabby white butt. The only things in my closet are those shameful little secrets that hint of normalcy or middle-american mundanity - and for gawd's sake don't tell my wife I said that, or she might make me sleep on the couch!

i collect dragons, and for a while i collected non sport fantasy trading cards. i ended up selling most of the cards, but there are a few sets that i have kept for the kids. i am also a lover of depression glass, ruby glass and carnival glass. i love silver and shiny things, things that sparkle, and just old stuff. Yep i have to clean out the house every 3 months, and be serious about what i want to keep. n

Lions and Tigers and Bears . . . oh my! lol Tigers being my #1 favorite. Graphics (Boris, Cleavenger, Linser, ect) Recipes. This isn't the extent of my collecting, but it is the biggest part. I have currently been looking at some daggers I am interested in. [8\|] Like I need anything else. LOL OH MY! NON -SPORT CARDS... yeh I have a 6000 count box filled with them still. Boris, Olivia, Marvel comic cards.. all that stuff. STARWARS, I used to have nearly the entire collection of ORIGINAL POTF 1985 Mint on sealed cards, but had to sell them to pay for my car acident :( in 1998. AS to other thngs, I collect TULLAMORE DEW Irish whiskey items, and BLACK VELVET whiskey things. But mostly just Transformers and GO-BOTS right now :D anyone have some for sale or trade ? Masterbetta1 on Yahoo IM.

I wonder if they are still at my parents house.... if so I'll send em to ya. i collect elvis stuff, haven't added to my collection in a while, although Master gave me an elvis plate which i had at one point and broke....but i have my big box sitting on top of my closet shelf with an 8-track of elvis sings children music, records, tapes, elvis stamps, cologne, pictures, magazines, etc... i also have started a small collection of presidential campaign items, i have some stuff from clinton's first campaign and lots from bush, i have some uncirculated coins, and $2 bills, hmmm, i think that's about it.

On a side note, our local club is having a class/demo on "Fantasy Roleplaying" this weekend, i will be interested to see what they say. Wonder if we nerds have an advantage there? [;)]

Nerds typically take a more high tech approach and want to crash government computer systems or other infrastructures. Both have seriously thought about puttiong on a garish costume and ransoming a major metropolis after constructing a massive prototype model of tesla's earthquake machine.
