Ok..is it just me or when someone has a webcam picture up do you look in the background to see how they keep house? Maybe I am just getting old, but I was just looking at a profile from someone that posted on the forums. She was nice looking and had some nice webcam pictures up. I looked at the background and thought "she seems to keep a clean place" Then noticed the nice legs...LOL I am so wrong sometimes...LOL

This topic has come up before but yes, without question. I've always felt that the best way to get to know someone in a hurry is to see how they live. There's nothing like getting a peek (or a full-blown eye-full) into someones living space to see what they're about. Sometimes it can be a little deceptive but on the whole, it's very much like looking through a window to see what they value and where their head is at. And it's just fun.

When I first saw my Daddy's pic I was not impressed with the mirror doors in his bedroom, I am not a fan of mirrored closet doors you see.... I prefer walkin closets or custom closets. It was not a deal breaker though[:D] It worked out great because he was just renting that place, and he has moved since to this wonderful place with fantastic closets! When we were out looking for a new apartment for him he thought the view was what had sold me on the place, but it was actually the closet space..hee he (well the view was what really got me excited, but the closet space is AWESOME). The moral of this story? Never judge a person by closets in the background of their photos... they may not even live there anymore[:D]

I agree completly, it gives a pic of who the person is other than the one they present to the world. For a simple example they tell you they are a non drinker but behind them are cases of empty beer cans.......makes ya kinda go hmmmm. I think it also gives you insight to how thier personal hygiene is, this can be a deal breaker for me, if the place they live if filthy and unkept then I would suggest their personal hygiene would be lacking as well. I also look in the backgrounds. It's interesting to see what it is that they are like in any given space, where they choose to take their pictures, and yes...how they keep house. This can't be seen in my pictures, though. Though you can see what colors our bedroom is painted, what the window looks like in our living room (though it's done being painted now, haha), and the wall of a place I was at earlier this year which is rather uninteresting. I'm a good housekeeper, but I selected my pictures based on which ones my whole face could not be seen in. behindmirrors.

This was brought up I think a couple months ago... And I'll say the same thing again... Don't look at my back grounds, unless you want to be shocked hehe. Ok, I admit it I'm a pig! I sometimes go on these bouts where I live in my own mess, and I'm a pack rat which makes everything worse. My apartment is actually clean right now, I promise hehe. They say creative people are generally messy anyhow um... yeah... sure... heheh.

I know that I do look at the background. I love to see books on shelves, then I can sort of get an idea of the person. I for one, try to keep my home neat, though it looks lived in. I want someone that looks like they can pick up after themselves, and will at least make an attempt to keep clean what I make clean. ~Masters Akasha~

I always check the backgrounds of pictures. I think it reveals a lot. It says a lot about first impressions.

Eeeek's I remember one pic that had so many extention cords knotted up I couldnt help wonder how they managed not to trip on them! Then again I see picture quality too and wonder what some people are thinking when they choose to post some of that stuff they do!! Then again they cant all be like Aileen and take such great pics! Q

I do occasionally notice embarassing messiness in the backgrounds of my photos. My excuse is that I am creative, or I blame the cats.
