Conch Piercing Question - 10/15/2006 12:40:03 PM

Status: offline 		Does anyone know if it's normal to have some swelling after a conch piercing?  I got pierced last Wednesday and my ear is painful to the touch, red and swollen.  No secretions or anything, though.  I'm extremely diligent about not touching it and cleaning as instructed.  This is the first time I've ever had any kind of discomfort from a piercing so I'm a little concerned.

I did call and it's normal. 

edited to add...but it fucking hurts.

Status: offline 		i have many piercings, especially ear piercings, but never heard of this one.  i like the way it looks though.  thanks for the site address.  i may look into getting one.

Status: offline 		I had one of the best piercers in Alberta (now retired) do my two, and they hurt like an SOB. They didn't swell significantly though. Have you tried soaking a cotton ball(s) in saline solution and holding them against the piercing? I found that helped, since I couldn't soak my ear with sea salt and then mild saline like I normally would. Of course, mine healed very quickly (because I'm Wolverine!!!). :D
