Jaded, what a serious mind fuck done to you. Yes the past can be used for both good and bad things. It's unfortunate that you may never tell you're past to another again yet understandable. Verbal humiliation is a pain when it reflects your past and is used to control you or get rid of you. The past always being used as that low blow way below the belt.
It reminds me of the Christain Culture as Sinners and the Devil well keep trying to pull you back "How could God love you for I know what you did? Come back and sin with us." And there's the advice "If you're reminded of your past, remind them of there future."
Kajira, Good Masters have ways of dealing with your family. As a Gentlemen I always meet the family ASAP and get consent to a blessing. I'll use it to my advantage to and I stomp my foot down. "She ain't in Kansas anymore. Telling her what to do is telling me what to do and you don't tell me what to do." I stand up to my family and the family of my submissive if and when needed. I'm sure the Dom you find for yourself will feel the obligation to do the same.
