Fangs... you don't like music much do you?...lol

Wasted Days and Wasted Nights....Before The Next Tear Drop Falls.... just to name a couple...

This man will be truly missed by many I assure you...

If someone doesn't know who Freddy Fender was and isn't even embarrassed enough to not admit it, then he really needs to stay in La La land.  And they called Junior Samples dumb!!  Boy!!  Talk about a bunch of wasted days and wasted nights in Fang's life.  Must have spent too much time in front of the mirror.

Una Paloma Blanca...

I'll miss him.  Because of FF I knew what to ask Mariachis to play.

Mayabe there is a song or two out there that I like. I'm just unfamiliar with the name. I'm more of a Jazz/Blues, Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, Victorian, and Goth music fan.

I know I will miss him. His songs had significance in certain events in my life. And I sing Wasted Days at karaoke. It's always a huge hit.

FangsNfeet -> RE: Freddy Fender Dies (10/16/2006 4:43:11 PM)

Come to find out, I do know Freddy. However, that was what he changed his name to from his origianal Latino name. That was the confusion. I've only known him as the BeBop Kid which was his nick when he started singing in the fifty's.

Anyhow, let his death be a reminder to use your gifts for as long as you can. Lung cancer for a singer has to suck.

I  also really loved The Texas Tornadoes. That band featured Freddy, as well as Doug Sahm and Augie Myers from The Sir Douglas Quintet, and Flaco Jimenez, accordion player extraordinaire. What great music they made, Rock, Blues, Tex- Mex, Country, such a cool band.
Rest In Peace Freddy.

I know of him.  Never grew to appreciate his music though....
