peterK50 -> Crawling (10/18/2006 5:28:07 AM)

Recently I had a conversation with a Domme about the proper way to crawl on a leash. She said there were protocols, styles, even competitions ala "dog shows" in certain circles. Has anyone else heard of this & are there any referrences?

Never heard of sucha thing.  I'd rather see gourmet cooking throw-downs by slaves. MUCH more  productive :)

"Protocols" is just another way of saying "personal preferences" since there is no univerally established protocol for anything in this lifestyle.  More than likely it refers to what she was taught, and either assumed or was told are the "right" way to do it.

And frequently, people derive a greater satisfaction from pretending that their personal preferences (protocols) are somehow part of a great lineage going back decades, centuries, etc.

There was a thread on puppy training a while back Peter - it had links to some specialist website as I remember; maybe look there?

Unless I get to wear padding, generally the only thing I worry about when crawling is positioning myself so I don't skin and bruise up my knees.

I was thinking the same.  I remember when I was to first meet my Master in person and offer myself to him, I was nervous because I did not know "proper protocol."  He said, "Your protocol is whatever I say it is."  What good would it have done to present myself in a way that he was not fond of, after all?  As for puppy training, I was trained in the manner in which he enjoyed.

I'm not sure about competition training and such.  What would signify a "purebred?" :)

Is tihs a new trend or something?  Awhile back I spoke to a slave who said she was trained in the "old guard, gorean ways, from the ancient European days before the John Norman books....in ways that are undocumented."  I scratched my head at that, particularly since she viewed slavery as highly romantic and, well, I don't think slaves were pampered so much back then.  But hmm, who knows....eh?

littlesarbonn -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 7:53:42 AM)

When I've been instructed to crawl, to be honest, the only thing I'm really focused on is not being beaten for doing it wrong. And ALWAYS, it's how She wants me to do it AT THAT TIME.

akisha -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 8:02:44 AM)

I found a reference to a puppy and pony training weekend near here, It hasn't been held for a couple years but they did pet training seminars and then a show at the end of the weekend so there could be something to what She was saying, But really I agree, it's like more of a personal preference thing.

sweetnurseBBW -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 8:10:30 AM)

I think every dominant has their own way of wanting it done. I am not sure of which protocols she is speaking of.

Mavis -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 8:24:44 AM)

Reminds me of one fo those "you had to have been there, but it was funny"  things.

Back when hubby and i had a regular play couple foursome,   me and the other guy trying to splain BDSM to hubby and the other girl..  get them to lighten up about "the horrors of S&M"    He suggested kneel races.

The guys walked backwards to the bedroom, while the gals were on our knees, cocks in mouth, trying to keep up and not break suction.  lol.    We jokingly referred to it as crawling on a cock-leash.  Oh, for youth.

SassySue -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 8:35:29 AM)

Clip some clothes pins to the inside of the thighs.. and make them crawl without losing any of the pins.  Mmms

I    LLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE that!!!

LotusSong -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 3:34:09 PM)

I've been scouring the net trying to find BDSM competitions that would specialize in crawling.. I can't find a thing.  Is the Domme on CM where she can tell us about it all?

WetHotGoddess -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 7:59:54 PM)

hmmm....... sounds to me like one of those people who is full of shit but who wants to pertend she knows something, to impress you. After all, she must compete with all other dommes and "know" some special something no one else knows.

I would rather have a sub who can get me my fucking drink when I ask for it, and remember the olive. If I tell him to crawl, he best do it.   *shrug*  Different strokes, I guess.

I LOVE the idea about the clothespins!!!

Not so much!  Puppy/trainer titles are more about the SM and behavior.  World Leather is about community activism and advocating a specific platform.  The advocate just happens to be a leatherperson.

MzMinx -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 9:32:02 PM)

*smiles* .... I can't modify my original post .... but yes I echo MsPandora .... I was sleepy when I posted and I was not clear in my definitions
many leather titles are as she says about social activisim ... .. a few like the puppy titles  and some others .... are more about the look and feel of a specific bdsm activity or such

Lordandmaster -> RE: Crawling (10/18/2006 10:24:27 PM)

Boooooo.  The skinned knees are like one of the best reasons for making a sub crawl around.  And those lovely rugburns they get sometimes...

OneX2 -> RE: Crawling (10/19/2006 4:01:38 AM)

I've seen it before and it was taken very seriously by the owner. I found it very enjoyable, and I would say it is simply a matter of taste. It does offer a good chance to show how well a good dog/pupp/whatever is responsive to command. In that aspect it is a display with a great function.
