My family came to the Americas way way back....in the early 1600s on my father's side and even earlier on my mother's side. You will note however the key part of that phrase:

America - Pop 300 Million
China - Pop 1.4 Billion

If 11 million additional people take 11 million jobs from locals, then 1.1 billion extra people should make 1.1 billion chinese unemployed.

That explains why it's a third world country.

Immigration, both legal and illegal are allowed because corporations want them to continue.  It isn't immigrants causing the problems it those at the top who will do anything to make more and pay less.

On a micro level that is constructive but on a macro level it is fairly  destructive.  

What is really screwing the American worker is outsourcing to China and other countries.  Again, that isn't the fault of immigrants.  Tax policies in this country reward instead of punish corporations who take jobs overseas.  American consumers only want THEIR job protected and if interviewed standing outside of walmart with two carts full of imported goods will whine about immigrants (who are hired by walmart) and loss of jobs (because walmart forces companies to export jobs) so until the dumb fucks wake up, this will continue.

Blaming immigrants is like blaming sick people for catching colds.

My ancestors didn't take anyone's jobs Arpig. They came to the United States on the Mayflower. The economy was alot different then. People were farmers and lived off of land they didn't have to pay loads of money for. (I rather liked the native american idea that land should not be owned). They could cut down logs and build their own houses on that land. Today, there are house payments, car payments, land payments.........everything costs money and people only get that money from jobs. If there aren't enough jobs to go around, people will end up starving on the streets. Don't try to make me look stupid by comparing immigration now to the first immigrants that came to America. If people could still find a patch of land, cut down some trees, and build their own houses, I'd have no problem with immigration. I'm not prejudice. I just don't want the american people to starve because there aren't enough jobs to go around.

I have a few ancestors that were Indians... maybe you need to get  back on that boat and go home? Your people would have starved had not my people took pity on you and taught you how to survive here... But that is easy to forget isn't it?


Inbreeding is not a good thing, I surely hope not all of your ancestors were on the Mayflower

Uh, your ancestors spread disease and plagues that killed millions and the ones that didn't die you hunted down and killed.  Even Al Queda isn't that bad.

Now that is a bit over the top and yet, isn't far from the mark either.

Girl, before you start posting about public policy, do yourself a favor and educate yourself on the issues.  Your understanding of them is even worse than your average bubblehead on Fox, now perhaps THEY have  a job waiting for you.

I am not inbred and I doubt everyone on the Mayflower was related to one another. I agree that Native Americans were very helpful in helping settlers learn how to survive and I have always had a great deal of respect for Native Americans. I would never take a job away from a Native American. I notice that you call them indians......in the age of immigration indian means from india. As I explained before, the economy was different then. My ancestors didn't take anyone's job. I have nothing against immigration as long as the number of immigrants and americans are proportionate with the number of jobs.

Some Native Americans do not like that term... if you knew more maybe you would know that... the ones I grew up with called themselves Indians... hmmmm... I guess you know more than they do what they like?

Now on to the next lesson.. I have one family member that came over on the Mayflower. His family ended up in Missouri as sharecroppers, they came out to California just like the Grapes of Wrath, with their mattress on their truck, and they were treated like shit by other Californians that did not want them here.

The other half of my family homesteaded in California and took land away from the local inhabitants to do so.

Perhaps you are also unfamiliar with the Mexican American War, many Hispanic families lost their ranches because they could not prove ownership when the USA took over because the records were in Mexico... so I really do not want to hear a holier than thou attitude about immigration stemming from our ancestry, parts of my family were victims of anti immigrant sentiment, and the other half victimized others... usually if your family has been here for generations it will show the same pattern.

People who close the door on immigrants once they are established here are anti American to me, America was BUILT on immigration... and btw, I think anyone without tribal membership should just leave (myself included) if they are so anti immigrant.

I don't give a rat's ass about your ancestry, but I do about your obsession with race.

You say you would never take a native's job.  Think about it - if you quit your job, someone else would take it, and that chain would continue until an additional native joined the workforce.

By your logic, jobs do not increase proportionatly to population.  There is a fixed number of jobs, and that's it.

I hope I don't need to explain that more people means more stores means more production means more..........

Sorry juliaoceania, I wasn't trying to offend you on what they liked to be called. I always called them Indians until  recently. I was talking to a potential partner a few months ago. When he told me he was Indian, I asked what tribe he was from and he told me he was from India. Since then, I learned to call them Native Americans to avoid any confusion. Why does everyone seem to think I'm prejudice against the color of someone's skin? I'm not!!! I have nothing against immigration as long as it doesn't result in job shortages. Do you think it's right for someone who has been working for a company for 10 years to be laid of and replaced by someone with a B1 Visa? It happens every day. Immigration shouldn't be allowed until laws are passed to prevent companies from doing this. Once these laws are intact, only a small number of immigrants should be allowed to come here at a time to prevent major job shortages. I repeat, I have nothing against immigration as long as it doesn't threaten job security.

Of course none of the immigrants that have moved into my part of the world actually BUY anything to help create any new jobs. They are rich and brought everything they need with them, get online and order everything they might run out of thru a company from Mexico, and god forbid we add to FedEx or UPS workforce so of course someone from Mexico is going to drive it up, but pulling a tanker of Mexican gas since they don't want to spend any money in the US to get that stuff that was ordered from Mexico to lil ol Iowa USA. And THEN of course they are living in some make believe house, cuz to buy or rent one would be spending money in the US, and of course they don't have any electricity or gas, they must have brought batteries and fire wood or something.............etc etc etc etc

Sound a little bit silly???????????? About as silly as the fact that all they are going to do is take take take and not give anything back to the economy. It is a circle silly one! Someone needs something, they buy something, the store they buy it from then has an increase in business because more people are buying their stuff and guess what?!?!?! They gotta hire more people!!!!!!!!!!! SEE HOW THAT WORKS!
